Well, I didn't vote for anyone yet simply because I think it's way too early and until July a lot of other names will probably pop out......
Utopia, don't believe everything labas says, for example when it comes to price we'll have to pay Jardel and Cisse are exactly in the same category...
I don't know the exact price but Sporting already payed a "mountain" last year (to Galatasaray) and I'm sure if they have to let their "everything" ( this year Sporting was called "one man team") just when they are entering their CL year that's not gonna be for nothing....and Cisse is still considered more as a talent than a star......Crespo is something different (another category when it comes to price) though......
Since I had chance to watch most of their goals (Jardel and Cisse) this year I would like to say couple of words abouth both of them and explain why I prefer the second one(although I would be more than happy with the 1st one too)...
Jardel is typical "in box striker", great finisher and probably the striker with the best aerial play right now in the world.....I'm not saying that he's useless out of the box.....no, he's got decent skills, pace and shot but the fact reamains that at least 80% (if they were not penalties) of his goals this year were (mostly headers) from close range........
On the other hand (well, these days I can hardly get impressed with a player but I must admit in this case I am) Cisse has got fenomenal pace (like he says he can run 100m under 11s) , a shot I haven't seen from Batistuta's glory days(did anyone see his first goal last Saturday),very good skills, decent aerial play and a sense for goal like every "natural" striker.......
it's true that he scored only 22 goals(comparing to Jardel's 42) but he had serious injury (I think it was a 2 months break).......
As I said before considering the way we play (especially in our away games) there is a little concerne that Jardel wouldn't have enough suply (we cross very rarely in our away games).....but than again I think that Gala played very similar to us last year and despite that he managed to score a lot.......
Recently I've seen a (weekly) CL show (a part was about Jardel) and he said that he was very happy there(by now he's a living legend in Portugal) and he's happy to be able to play in CL again (they won their league)...
so,it's not certain that he'll leave them anyway....the only reason to move would probably be desire to finally prove himself in one of the best leagues in the world (so Scolari would finally remember that he exists)...
D.Silva.......nah
Pauleta........
and Momo, could you finally honour us with your opinion or we have to wait for some extra ocasion to see your highness's butt?
