We all know that Davids is almost never used anymore and that sometimes he is not even called up by Mancini anymore. Cambiasso and C.Zanetti have exploded, yes, but surely there is always place for the Pitbull at least on the bench.

But what really escaped attention is Davids' reaction to the situation or rather, the lack thereof. Isn't that a bit odd? I mean, we are talking about the same Edgar Davids that complained left right and center when he was benched at Juve. Even Moggi was unable to keep him quiet! Yet at Inter, hardly anything is heard from him on the matter. How come? Inter has been known for it's inability to keep things like those within the walls of the locker room in the past and it's unlikely that the directors have become experts in keeping secrets overnight. So, the only logical conclusion is that something big happened, that goes much beyond the normal coach-player quarell.

While nobody has any real idea what is happening, I can report a rumour going around Milano lately. It is said that Mancini is under orders from above to use Davids as less as possible because , allegedly, Davids had an affair with Afef, the wife of Tronchetti Provera, Inter's second largest shareholder. I emphasize again, it's only a rumour and you are welcome to dismiss it completely, but surely you would agree with the first part of my post?

What is really behind Davids' case?

i dont think its something special,
edgar is at the end of his career, and he knows that
the only thing why he's at inter is Money.
if he wanted to play and get trophies, then he'd stay in barça,
where he was doing well, if i'm not wrong
so why should he complain ? :)

/anyway i'd like to see him playing .../

An Affair? whats with these dutch guys... (seedorf, him), they must now be watching ADVM very closely....

OK, Mancio, every coach has to employ his style and his philosophy. A wishy washy type of coach, who change at pressure from press, boss, whatsoever gains no respect.

A Lippi or a Rijkaard may find Davids useful in their system.... simiarly, a Henry is highly usable by wenger, but not Lippi.

Professionally, although Mancio may have 'brought' along with him many ex-lazio guys, but I believe he wouldnt be that Biased towards them only. Many may had thought that Mihaj was his spy... later worth was proven accordingly.

Mancio has his system, theory to move on. He needed support from Mr M. If need be, the offloading of Davids be carried out. Do you want the player or to support the current coach. Mr. M always do the former...

What a silly rumor. What would the wife of a billionaire want with a guy like Davids out of all the people in the world? :googly:

Anyways, I think Davids is quiet mainly because he KNOWS that he's only here for the money, and as long as gets that, he's satisfied.

Lets think about it. If Davids was really looking for guaranteed first team action then he wouldn've never left Barca. The reason he left them is because we offered more money. So if we get acquainted with the fact that his main objective is money, it is no surprise that he's very quiet about the whole situation.

Actually, I think Davids thought that he would have had a first team spot when he came here. And he thought he could succeed in Italy again after rediscovering his game at Barcelona. I reckon he would have been much more successful if he had joined Milan instead of Inter.

As for money being his motivation, that is only speculation, even if it isn't completely illogical.

I think he has a lot more to offer. But Inter isn't the easiest place to do it for most players, especially midfielders and defenders. So great credit must be then given to players like Veron.

When Davids came to Inter he expected to be featured much more in the first team than he has done so far this season. Davids thought that this season Inter could build a strong and be a strong competitor in all competitions. Although one factor of his arrival from Barca must be the money, and he is very much recieving more money than he got at Barca.
I am although expecting Davids to leave in the summer, because he is at the end of his career and he wants 1st team football.

yeah and that is so damn funny... we would take him away from barca and give him more money for it ..and keep him on the bench and sometimes not even there? talk about making good and SENSIBLE use of your money. and by the way none of this is davids fault. wouldnt YOU leave a club if another one offered more money ?
only an inter could have done such a transfer... pay him more money to stay in the stands ... JESUS CHRIST THAT IS FUNNY
there is something between mancio and davids.. mark my words.. you will know im right when the true story comes out later

I completely agree with the stupidity of that transfer... Typical Inter. I was against him arriving at Inter, not because Davids sucks, but because we already had so many capable players in that position.

But the 3 stooges AKA Moratti, Branca and Oriali had to show the world how stupid they are.

That rumor is hilarious. What a playa Davids is if true! :howler:

But the reason he isn't playing is because of Cambiasso brilliant form this season. I mean did anyone think El Cuchu would be this good? :dazed: He's been a difference maker for us in the middle this year and hardly ever has a bad game. He's like the JZ of the midfield which is pretty high praise, but he deserves it.

Fed up Davids wants out of Inter Milan
tribalfootball.com - March 22, 2005

Edgar Davids has made his mind up and will quit Inter Milan at the end of this season.

The Dutchman was convinced he'd play from the start against Fiorentina on Sunday, but was again left out of the first XI by coach Roberto Mancini.

Davids was furious after the game and made no secret of his anger when quizzed by journalists.

Mancini defended his decision, insisting: "For now, he will have to deal with this reality.

"We have six central midfielders and of these decisions he will have to live with."

Who cares about Davids? He has not made a contribution this season and when called upon he has played crap. He may as well already have packed his bags and left. It is not as if his absence has made any difference. We have managed without him and with the way Veron and Cambiasso played against Fiorentina, he will not be playing for Inter any time in the near future.

The only concern Inter should have about Davids is finidng a club/deal to take him elsewhere.

These days... our club considers that Massive Salary is better off.. compared to Massive Transfer Fees.

The former would provide ...
1. Experienced Player, usually Old. (sometimes unwanted, like Batigol at one time)
2. Shorter Contract, least commitment possible. (Recoba lesson learnt)
3. Immediate Short Term Solution. (What problem? Moratti's preferences)

Many decisions were made before Mancio arrived. It is clear that Mancio's preferences are not taken too seriously as no one can estimate his Departure time. If you were Branca, you would just do the same.
