I read today in www.adresseavisen.no an article about Rosenborg that I did not know where to put...so eventually I came to think, that a Rosenborg thread would be good to have.

I do not expect Jinxter's help on it, but maybe if Andreas and RosenborgFan could write in it once in a while. It is after all the biggest club in Norway.

RBK will tomorrow meet Fredrikstad, but several players won't be there. Basma, El Fakiri, and Espen Johnsen are with the national team, and Bent Skammelsrud has a small injury. However Martin Høyem, just 20, who has recently switched from being a striker to being a central defender, will start tomorrows match. Many peopleexpect a lot from him. Lars Blixt will also play right back, and not left back like he did in Egypt.

Starting eleven:
Arni Gautur Arason - Lars Blixt, Martin Høyem, Erik Hoftun, Janne Saarinen - Odd Inge Olsen, Ørjan Berg, Roar Strand - Harald Brattbakk, Christer George, Morten Knutsen.

Substitutes: Alexander Lund Hansen (keeper), Are Tronseth, Tor Trondsen, Jarle Steinsland, Ståle Stensaas, Mads Skjærvold and Dagfinn Enerly

Rosenborg - Fredrikstad

I had planed to take a trip to Abrahallen this evening. But sad for me, I didn't make to get out to Malvik in time. Therefore I follow the game at adressa.no: live report

It's 5-0 after 45 minutes, and Odd Inge Olsen has scored a hat-trick :D Sounds like Rosenborg humiliates Fredrikstad! But after all, the 'gap' between a 2nd division team and a Champions League-team should be as big as this, I think.

Considering that Aalesund beat Træff, a very decent 2nd divison team 7-1 a few days ago, I am not exactly shocked at this result. But I guess that everyone, including me, expects more from FFK than the usual 2nd division team. Mostly because they are not a regular team. They have spent millions, they have Eggen jr as coach, they have tremendous support, and a great history.

Do you know how Høyem and Blixt did RosenborgFan? Maybe I will go read the newspaper again, and see if they wrote anything interesting about it.

Wow Thomas, that is really impressive. I guess I have seen your special feature before, but it was just now it struck me how professionable you are with it, and besides it is definetly a great site you've got there. Glad to have you coming by here too, especially as frequently as you have lately. Although I suspect a lot of your net time goes to your site, I hope you will continue coming here in the future too.

Rosenborg met Bodø/Glimt today, and lost 3-4!! Lars Blixt started the match with two relatively big mistakes, and own goal, and being in the wrong place in defence on the second goals so that there was no offside. In addition, he got the only yellow card, and was traded out during half time.

Despite playing without a bad Blixt in the second half, and dominating the match, it was Bodø who won the match, since Bodø's attack was on fire, and scored on almost every chance.

Rosenborg - Bodø/Glimt 3-4 (1-2)

500 spectators

0-1 Lars Blixt (own goal, 7), 0-2 Vegard Sannes (14), 1-2 Christer Basma (20), 1-3 Stig Johansen (55), 2-3 Dagfinn Enerly (71), 3-3 Dagfinn Enerly (78), 3-4 Olav Råstad (79).

Yellow card: Lars Blixt, Rosenborg

Rosenborg (4-3-3): Espen Johnsen - Lars Blixt (Jarle Steinsland 46), Christer Basma, Erik Hoftun, Ståle Stensaas - Odd Inge Olsen, Hassan El-Fakiri, Roar Strand - Christer George, Harald Brattbakk (Dagfinn Enerly 62.), Morten Knutsen (Mads Skjærvold 70).
Not used Subs: Arni Gautur Arason, Tor Trondsen, Joachim Eriksen og Martin Høyem.

I think this will be the team:

Arason

Olsen - Basma - Hoftun - Saarinen

Strand - Skammelsrud - Berg

Enerly - Johnsen - Brattbakk

If I should choose, this would be the XI:

Arason

Blixt - Basma - Hoftun - Saarinen

Strand - El Fakiri (sometimes Skammelsrud) - Berg

Enerly - Johnsen - Brattbakk/George

32 year old Marco Bode to RBK? The old friend of Rune Bratseth told Dagbladet that he is interested in playing for Rosenborg. JHe has scored 98 goals for Werder Bremen.

What do you guys think? Sounds insane, but he might be a success, although he is getting kind of old now:)

Today VG and Nettavisen used rbkweb.com as source for this news! Sadly (for me) did they change their articles some hours ago to make them more "self-done"

I think Marco Bode could be a success. I seems like he wants to play for Rosenborg, and even though he is 33 this summer, I think he can do well. After all is he still fast and scores quite a lot of goals in the Bundesliga.

By the way, this news is confirm by Rosenborg-coach Nils Arne Eggen, who told that he thinks Bode is a great player. Article in Norwegian

How did you find out about this? Dagbladet made it seem like it was their article yesterday, but on your webiste, it says that you were the first in Norway to tell people. How did you get the story, and was it you or Dagbladet that had it first? :)

I don't understand all this "even though he's 32/33" talk. I thought that was the average age at Rosenborg? It just means he'll easier become a part of the gang and intergrate with the rest of the team. They can go to bingo, watch Derrick and stuff like that together.

:dielaugh:

You crack me up Jinxter :howler: :jester:

But you are absolutely correct though. Mr Bode is a "spring" chicken" compared to Skammelsrud and Hoftun

Perhaps RBK are trying to become more "eurocentric" by buying foreigners, as that is the done thing with ALL good european teams these days (except RBK and Sparta Praha). Or maybe he has some kind of "special" relationship with Braseth ;) ;)

Still if he's scoring regularly in the Bundesliga, then he should be able to handle the Tippeliga ok

According to rbkweb.com ;) :D Rosenborg is intensifying their search for a striker. After playing 1-1 against Vålerenga, Nils Arne Eggen said that they were looking for someone that could go straight into the starting eleven. :)

A month ago it seemed like Rosenborg had dropped their plans for signing new players before the new season. I spoked to the press-officer at RBK, and he confirmed this.

But since the attackers have not impressed so far in the pre-season, it now seems like Rosenborg is hunting for a new striker; a successor for Sigurd Rushfeldt.

If it was up to me, Rosenborg should have signed a central defender too. After Bent Inge Johnsen's move to Odd Grenland, Rosenborg now have just three central defenders: Erik Hoftun, Christer Basma and Tor Trondsen.

Therefore I hope to see two new signings before the season starts in mid-April!

Yes, Rosenborg definatly needs another central defender, preferably a fast one. Both Hoftun and Trondsen are very lacking in the speed department, and needs a fast partner to cover them. If something would happen to Basma, Rosenborg would be crippled against fast attacking teams like Molde and Brann.

Werder Bremen is interested in buying Arason. With RBK having two great keepers now, this could be a beneficial sale when it comes to money, but money is not what RBK needs, you need great results.

Of course at the moment, Werder is just looking at Arason and nothing more has happened, so it may come to nothing.
