Thanks :) ... yeah, I just love the (up to a certain degree morbid) humour of the Smiths, and the music is quite good too. :lala:

Your signature is quite a good one too by the way ;)

With Navarro, the weakest link of last year´s Mallorca might be taken care of. Nice move.

Cuper tracking Karagounis Sunday 3 July, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spanish sources suggest that former Inter boss Hector Cuper wishes to be reunited with Giorgos Karagounis at Mallorca.

The Greek midfielder was signed by the Nerazzurri precisely on Cuper’s request in the summer of 2003, but the Coach was sacked a couple of months later.

28-year-old Karagounis has not been given much room to spread his wings at the San Siro under Alberto Zaccheroni or current boss Roberto Mancini and has also attracted interest from the Premiership.

According to Spanish newspaper ‘Marca’, Cuper hopes to use his rapport with Inter patron Massimo Moratti to sign the versatile Euro 2004 winner.

Argentine Coach Cuper has struggled since the October 2003 sacking and only just avoided relegation with Real Mallorca this term.

Meanwhile, ‘Marca’ also maintains that Inter will announce the capture of Real Madrid duo Walter Samuel and Santiago Solari on Monday.

A deal has reportedly been struck to sign the former Roma defender on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season for £12m, while Solari will cost the club £1.3m.

I just read that Juan Arango's loan has finished at Mallorca, and he's going back to his Venezuelen club.
Anybody know if this is true?

I'm disappointed to read this as he is my favourite Mallorca player.
I hope he will be at Son Moix next season!

"Mallorca loan Real's Borja
Reuters

Real Madrid have loaned Borja Fernandez to Real Mallorca for a season and extended the contracts of former youth team players Alvaro Arbeloa and Ruben de la Red.

Borja, a versatile midfielder, will not be permitted to play against his former club during his stint with the islanders.

In the past, Real players on loan have frequently produced match-winning performances against them and the club have consequently decided to put a restrictive clause in deals they strike with other clubs.

Borja, 24, made eight league appearances for Real last season but the recent signing of Uruguayan midfielder Pablo Garcia have extinguished his chances of first team football at the club.

Mallorca, who are coached by Hector Cuper, looked destined for the drop for much of last season, but rallied to finish two points above the relegation zone.

Right back Arbeloa and midfielder De la Red, who were both under contract until 2007, have extended their deals with Real until 2009.

The two players will join fellow former youth team players Juanfran, Roberto Soldado and Jose Manuel Jurado on Real's tour of the United States, China, Japan and Thailand which begins on Thursday."

I´ve never heard about that player. Is he good?

Wow, quite oprimistic, mate ... but Mallorca stand a chance indeed. BTW: Friends and me gonna see Mallorca in pre-season facing Sparta Praha, somewhere near Munich on tuesday, the 25th. Really looking forward to it ... maybe we can take some photos. :)

another signing ...

"RCD Mallorca have made Argentinian right-back Francisco Maciel their fourth summer acquisition. The 27-year-old, who has spent the last three campaigns with Real Murcia CF, has agreed a one-year deal with the option of a further year. Maciel appeared 34 times in the Segunda División for Murcia in 2004/05." www.uefa.com

Mallorca-Prague near Munich? Really? The 25th is a monday in july... is it on monday or tuesday? I don´t find anything about that match when I search for it with google. Do you know where that match takes place? Maybe I go there, too. Could be a nice game...

edit:ahh, now I´ve got it. on the official website is a list of the pre-season matches. but I don´t see a match against Prague. But there are some interesting games against Blackburn Rovers, SpVgg Unterhaching and Wacker Burghausen. The Blackburn match is in Austria... a bit too far for me. But the Unterhaching match is good, I think that will be my game ;)

Yeah, I think it was Prague ... there was certainly a Mallorca friendly on Tuesday, 26th (my mistake, the date ;) ). I will ask my friend, who has more details about it, later today and write you tonight or tomorrow where exactly it will be. :)

True, and Deportivo arguably are not the side they used to be anymore.

Potenza Signs For Mallorca
7/19/2005 9:33:00 PM

Mallorca have surprisingly announced that they have signed Alessandro Potenza from Inter leaving the promising Ivan Ramis to look for a new club.
Héctor Cúper declared that Potenza has become the Balearic club's fifth signing of the summer and that he will join the squad's pre-season training programme in Kossen in Austria after a medical.

The arrival of the Italian defender spells the end of Ramis' progress at Son Moix as Cúper explained that he has been told to look for a new club despite making 22 appearances for Mallorca last term.

"He needs to play regularly and to improve some aspects of his game," Cuper explained, hinting that a loan deal maybe the solution for Ramis.

"There are elements that he can improve on by playing games every week for another team."

Potenza, who has enjoyed loan spells with Chievo and Parma, is the fifth player to join Mallorca after Cúper has already brought in Toni Prats, Borja, Francisco Maciel and Fernando Navarro.

Corradi pining for Italy Friday 22 July, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bernardo Corradi has declined a move to Real Mallorca as he wants to return to Serie A.

The Valencia striker only moved to the La Liga outfit last summer when Claudio Ranieri was Coach.

However, he failed to settle in the Spanish League and the departure of Ranieri earlier in 2005 certainly didn’t help matters.

“Officially, nobody from Mallorca has spoken to us and we are only aware of this news from the Press,'' said his agent Moreno Roggi.

''Corradi is not interested in continuing to play in the Spanish League and he wants to return to Italy.''

Formerly of Lazio, Corradi had been heavily linked with a move to Premiership side Charlton Athletic.

However, the comments from his agent suggest that move is out of the question, but it remains to be seen where he will be playing his football next season.

Valencia are thought to be willing to allow Corradi to go out on loan for a year, making him a tempting proposition for the likes of Parma and Siena.

A few weeks ago the newspapers here in Nuernberg wrote that Ramis is on the list of our coach Wolf. Rumours said that he was on Mallorca to watch a few players, especially Ramis. Everyone thought that Mallorca would never let him go. Now the FCN doesn´t need another defender....

Burghausen - Mallorca 0-3

On sunday Mallorca played against Wacker Burghausen and they celebrated a clear 3-0 victory. Campano made the half-time lead, and in the second half Arango scored two goals to make the final result. Real was the better team, altough the result was a bit too high, quoting Burghausens coach Schupp.

the team:

Moyà (Prats), Navarro (Tuni), Ballesteros (Jose), Potenza, Maciel (Cortés), Borja (Farinós), Pereyra (Perera), Campano (Rafita), Peralta (Arango), Okubo (Luis García), Víctor (Delibasic)

Some years ago, it was easier... now, unless you're from China or Japan, you don't see a single Spanish team around until late August. :D
