I'm not a Mallorca-fan as a such, but they belong to the clubs I kind of like and I was happy to see they did not relegate in the end. Additionally I rate Hector Cuper (actually a main reason why I like them) still one of the highest quality coaches in the world, what he just proved by the incredible run he made the team go through those last weeks.

Do they fly to Palma now as well? I though up to now they only served the big ones on the peninsula, yet not the island.
As you say home match. Have you seen them live playin away already?

And by the way, Hector Cuper really must be a good coach. During the season I resigned myself to see Mallorca playing in the Segunda next season. But those incredible last weeks were definitely impressing.

Yeah, I rate him an outstanding coach, but with the seldom ability to lose the important games. However, he won them this season when it was most important. :thmbup:

Just looked it up, they seem to fly from various cities, even Leipzig, well and Berlin (it's AirBerlin, makes sence )
Wow ... from Nürnberg you can actually fly to every city in Europe (well, I'm overexaggerating a bit )

Yeah I was wondering exactly the same ... On the other side there was no Cauthemoc Blanco ... some strange decisions are being taken there (no Marcelinho for Brasil and no Robert Enke for Germany to increase the list)

However, a quality coach is underestimated by many clubs and can do a lot also with less gifted players. And Cuper is a quality coach IMO.

From what i know is that Blanco actually said no to the national team as he wants to rest.

Sure ... it's not like I expect them to reach the Champions League next season ... they hardly stand chances to make it to the UEFA-Cup even ... there's just to many teams fighting for those places, but probably a finishing in the higher midfield would do to build on (UI-Cup eventually)
So when we give Cuper some years, why not make it back to Europe within the coming decade?

Right now, Mallorca has 15 players! (Moya, Cifuentes; David Cortes, Ballesteros, Iuliano, Ramis, Niño; Campano, Pereyra, Farinos, Tuni, Arango; Okubo, Luis Garcia, Victor). Between 6 and 8 new faces are needed. Plans are: a goalkeeper, both sidebacks (there is interest in Fernando Navarro), a couple of midfielders (Levante´s Rivera could be one of them), and a few forwards.

Oh, probably they can strike Fyssas from Benfica then since he is not in Koeman's plans anymore ... he's a decent left back when defending but lousy when going forward (which actually might have to do with the fact he hardly does it once in a game) ... however, think I would've kept him as a back-up player. He's not that bad (he's international for Greece in the end)

the new fixture list for the 2005/06 season ist out. mallorca is starting at home against deportivo la coruna. i think it´s not the badest start. could be better, but at home they should win against la coruna.


i´m looking forward to the winter. on the 18th of december they play at home against atletico madrid. maybe i attend to this game.

Wow, quite oprimistic, mate ... but Mallorca stand a chance indeed. BTW: Friends and me gonna see Mallorca in pre-season facing Sparta Praha, somewhere near Munich on tuesday, the 25th. Really looking forward to it ... maybe we can take some photos.

Mallorca-Prague near Munich? Really? The 25th is a monday in july... is it on monday or tuesday? I don´t find anything about that match when I search for it with google. Do you know where that match takes place? Maybe I go there, too. Could be a nice game...

Yeah, I think it was Prague ... there was certainly a Mallorca friendly on Tuesday, 26th (my mistake, the date ). I will ask my friend, who has more details about it, later today and write you tonight or tomorrow where exactly it will be.

and btw, these are your words. so why not start the season with a victory...
