Have they had more when he was there for the first time?
However, a quality coach is underestimated by many clubs and can do a lot also with less gifted players. And Cuper is a quality coach IMO.
It's true that Cúper is a great coach and the facts prove it, but they still need a bit more to reach the level of the team of the late 90s.

So when we give Cuper some years, why not make it back to Europe within the coming decade? ;)
Sure, but they should start changing their policy and they should think in big words. Players like Luque, Etoo, Ibagaza, Engonga, Leo Franco, Dani, Riera, Novo,... I mean ANYONE who did something right in Mallorca, was sold. You can't make big things selling everything.

so, anyone been to a pre-season friendly? what about you, Bier? I didn´t manage to go to the Unterhaching game.
Some years ago, it was easier... now, unless you're from China or Japan, you don't see a single Spanish team around until late August. :D

A bit old that news, but I just heard about it. Mallorca seems to show interest in signing Ajax striker Charisteas. Anyone heard something more concrete than that news item from the 23-07-2005?

I didn't hear anything. I know that they've been talking with some strikers like Dani (ex-Madrid, Zaragoza, Mallorca, Barça and Espanyol) and Julio Cruz (Inter)

Mallorca lost 0-1 against Deportivo. All the reviews highlight the lack of reinforcements in Mallorca. They're going to suffer a lot this year.

0 - Real Mallorca: Moyá; Cortés, Potenza, Ballesteros, Fernando Navarro; Campano (Rafita, min. 72), Borja, Farinós (Borja, min. 84), Peralta; Tuni (Muñoz, min. 80) y Okubo.
1 - Deportivo de La Coruña: Molina; Manuel Pablo, Andrade, Juanma, Capdevila; Scaloni, Sergio, Duscher, Iván Carril (Momó, min. 53); Rubén (Valerón, min. 75) y Tristán (Senel, min. 67).
Goles: 0-1, min. 18: Juanma

Hm, dissapointing start in the season. :( I thought Cuper would build up a stronger team. Let´s see what the next games will bring. But the next one against Barca won´t be easier ;)
Yeah, it won't. :D We need to win and, if it's by a big margin, much better.

I don´t know why, but I feel that Choutos is going to score against Barca. And it will be the winning goal ;) Believe me...
Don't tell me this, man... :scared::D

I have nothing against Mallorca (and I won't say that they're a poor team anymore, Valdes), but I see them as the victim of Barcelona's problems. Barça will try to prove that they're around and they'll try to make a good performance. Mallorca will come to defend and catch a counter-attack, if possible.

If Mallorca takes a point in the Camp Nou, I'd be very surprised.

did xoutos start?? how did he go apart from the goal?
Not much, he only played 15 minutes.

This time the problem was the goalie again. Prats is to blame for 2 goals at least. It seems that Mallorca didn't start bad at all, but in their first 2 chances, Málaga scored 2 goals. After that, everything was easier for them. The defensive weakness seems scary.

Considering the squad, I don't think that Cúper is the problem of this team, but actually one of the few who can save them. The team is one of the 3 worst teams in La Liga for sure, so if you save, it's just because of Cúper.

Mallorca sold any decent player in the last few years: Luque, Eto'o, Tristán, Novo, Leo Franco, Ibagaza,... in that way, it is impossible to succeed.

Well, I would'nt know about that I'm not in spain.

Maybe K4 might have read something in the papers about Mallorca?

That's interesting news about Ivan Campo though!
Be good for Mallorca to get a quality player in, plus one or two more would help!
Yes, actually the same. Ivan Campo may return this winter or maybe next summer and also this Pisculichi that nooone heard about. They were after Pandiani too, but Espanyol seemed closer.

Hey, I just want to ask some of you guys about Jankovic. I see that's he's been scoring but how is his play in general? Most Serbs like him and think he has potential on our NT. :)
The only full game I saw from him was the one they played against Barcelona and the truth is that he was invisible, although I wouldn't blame him, since all his team had an off day. On the other hand, he's scoring goals and I always see things from him in the highlights. In Mallorca, people are happy with him for sure.

I always rated Serbian's talent and working effort quite high, but lately I thought that this was in decrease, at least in La Liga. Players like Ilic or Delibasic came here as promising stars and disappeared through the back door. But this season, it seems that guys like Zigic and Jankovic changed the trend. Good news for you... and for us. :)

Thanks for the feedback guys. We have high hopes for Jankovic. Last friendly he was given a starting spot by our coach Javier Clemente and many are in favour of him keeping him there. Hopefully, more of our players can succeed in your league (I think Bojan Krkic will do very well for Barcelona and Spain).
Did Krkic make his choice already? BTW, he made his debut with Barça B last week.

I dont know if you saw it, but Jankovic scored a great goal last weekend. I don't know if Jankovic and Zigic are the best Serbian strikers, but I like these 2 guys a lot.

Yes, they sold him to Palermo. I don't know much about this story, but it's a bit shocking. In any case, Mallorca always were a selling club and they survived with this policy. The list of great players that they sold is endless: Valerón, Tristán, Luque, Riera, Eto'o, Ibagaza,...
