Kanu slammed for charity

KANU has been attacked by Nigeria's FA chairman for promoting his heart
foundation - rather than training for an easy World Cup qualifier.

Understanding boss Dominic Oneya moaned: “Instead of joining his mates in camp
in Lagos, Kanu has been parading himself in Abuja, promoting his own programme.
This is not how to be patriotic.”

Oneya has also vowed to put an end to the “big boy” syndrome that exists in the
national team.

Arsenal ace Kanu, 23, will launch his heart foundation next Wednesday in Nigeria's
capital Lagos.

The organisation plans to raise money to build five hospitals across Africa to help
people with heart problems.

Kanu underwent heart surgery four years ago following his switch from Ajax to Inter

Nigeria and Sierra Leone are drawn in a 2002 World Cup qualifying pool that also
includes Ghana, Liberia and Sudan.

Health or football?, I go for football :)
