The United States has landed a rover on the planet Mars. Its first digital transmission to earth was as follows:

6 15 18 16 1 12 1 26 9 15

18 15 13 1 13 5 18 4 1

That makes perfect sense. I think that especially the 6 15 18 part will impress a lot of scientists. But I assume that the last few digits of the second sequence will cause a lot of debate. Not so much because of the numbers themselves, but more of the way the were presented. I'm pretty sure that many people had other expectations about this and it just didn't turn out like they thought.

The European Space Agency (ESA) tried a simular mission earlier last month, which failed, so the digital information send back from the NASA probe will surely turn heads here in Europe as well.

I wouldn't be a all surprised if the Times headline tomorrow morning will read 6 15 18 16 1 12 1 26 9 15.

The scientific community couldn't have wished for a better start to the new year than this! :)

Well, excuuuuuuuuse me! 100 million miles in transmission from Mars to Earth and you guys are complaining about 16 and 26. Someone at NASA will surely lose his or her job over this one!

TIME TRAVEL

Do you all know of that paradox 'what would happen if you went back in time to kill yourself?' Well I read in an article that if time travel is possible, and you went back in time to kill yourself, time would actually split apart to create and paralell universe....crazy eh?

Well, this theory about the parallel universe has been used in Science Fiction novels for quite a time.I doubt any scientist could predict with any reasonable certainty what will happen when someone is time travelling.

Certainly not. I should have replaced the word 'would' with 'could' or 'might'.
