Even so it's just a friendly between the league selections, i'm looking forward to see this game in may. It would be great if (but surely this wont happen) it wont be a league selection, but a second selection alsow with foreigners who aren't playing in the NT (Reghecampf, Jerry Gane, Mara, Catalin Munteanu, even Galca, why not Dan Petrescu? )

Why would you want to see those over-the-hill players..Petrescu is finished and Gâlcã dosen't really have a place in the team anymore...He's too slow and Ghioane and Codrea are much better. He also whines when the coach leaves him on the bench, which is kind of sad considering that he's 30....

Why should they? The NT is not some stupid TV show, like Iarta-ma and Din Dragoste. Petrescu and Galca had their chances, they are hardly playing, esp. Petrescu, Gane is pretty old and we have plenty of strikers, Reghe is not that impressive in the Bundesliga, while Catalin Munteanu will definitely be a part of the NT if he'll ever play at a club level.

I've said that before the UKR and POL games and we did just that.

We cannot call all the Romanian players to try them in our NT. We have to take at least 3-4 months to form a nucleus of 22-23 players who know each other and who will form a real team. We can invite few players like Mara, Patrascu and Sanmartean because they deserve to have a chance to prove if they belong in the NT, but not everybody and especially not players like Gane, Galca and Petrescu because these players don't have a lot of playing time ahead. They must be remembered for the good things they did also, but times change. The NT is not a team where we invite players to play because they look good or for compassion. The NT is a team where only the best should play.
I still think that we should play stronger teams. We should have at least one more friendly with a team that qualified for the WC. Only Greece is not enough because then there will be the WC and during and after it there will not be many teams that will want to play friendlies!!
I just found out that Croatia will play against Hungary in May, couldn't we have played with the Croatians?! They would have been a perfect sparring partners because of their physical, technical and mental skills.

Lupetto, Do you think Croatia would like to risk sinking their morale before the WC??? They would not want to play us because there is a high possibility that they would lose (especially the way we are playing lately) and this would leave them demoralized for the WC. That is why they chose to play Hungary…

Morale boosters and 'getting tested' is not the same. An 8-0 win will definitely be a morale booster even against a weeker team. A loss is a loss! Do you think Poland boosted their morale because they chose to play and lost to a better team (us)?
A win against a weak team neither boost your morale nor gets you tested, IMO. Poland didn't get their morale boosted, but their sure got tested, and most likely it was a good learning experiance. Now maybe they can fill some of the gaps and make some last min changes. Croatia is better team than Poland if I am not mistaken. They will learn nothing from playing Hungary. They could learn a great deal and make some last min adjustments before the WC, by playing a team like Romania.

Croatia would be great to play, not because they are one of the best in the world, but because of their style. See, there are mainly 2 teams with which our style does not work well: Italy and Croatia. Individually, we're better than them but their style is very uncomfortable for use because they break the game, they brake the rythm. We're a technical team, we need to have a high tempo and a rythm that is continous, that is not broken. Once our rythm is broken, we become an average and confused team which can rely only on individual skills (something that we do not lack, thought )
By the way, in the WC, Croatia and Italy are in the same group. The game between Croatia and ITaly will be like seeing Italy VS Italy 2 ( Or between Croatia and Croatia 2, depending on your perspective )

I agree with David, Mara is good but he is not mature yet, he plays as a foward many times but he doesn´t score, he still has to learn a lot.
