What should we do with skinnylegs do you think?

Wotte wants to extend his contract which runs out in the summer of 2006 since he doesn't want to lose him on a bosman then, but do you think Smoli will be worthwhile for us and ever make a real run in the first team? I'm undecided. I reckon he like Castelen is a decent squad player but not regular first team material if we are to become really great and if Castelen is still with us, I can't see Smoli breaking in especially if Castelens biggest fan is still in charge.

He's apparantly deciding on going on loan to either Roda , Vitesse, Willem or Albacete who apparantly have offered us a nice loan fee.

I think Smolarek still some of the puinhoop of the Baan era. He's just not good enough, and he's definitely not a good winger. Castelen will probably play for Feyenoord at least 2 more years. So it wouldn't be worth loaning Smolarek out that long. He may not even want to remain in Holland that long.

He's a worker, he always either delivers goals or assists and IMO is not less of a player than Castelen. I'd keep Ebi and even give him substantial playing time, but the decision is not up to me.

For his own good and the good of his career, Ebi should move on to a subtopper where he would play week in, week out. Either way, I wish him all the best!

I think that's best too. Ruud and Wotte probably still think that we'll be able to sell Castelen for big money in a year or twos time and with de Graaf now in the first team, Smoli will only be 3rd choice now and only come back into contention for Feyenoord een when Castelen goes (unlikely if he continues the form of the 2nd half the 1st half of the season course) so unless de Graaf turns out to be rubbish or Castelen worsens, I can't see Smolareks position improving.

I wouldn't call Smolarek puin though Bazman. He does score important goals sometimes like against your boys last season in Eindhoven p, but yeah he isn't in the class of someone like Rosales.

In the van Marwijk period he was a decent and sometimes important player, I've always had good feeling with him, I see him as a good player.

We were linked with him but he costed us too much, he was linked with Albacete as well I believe...

Main problem is his position, Feyenoord always has got decent wingers or playmakers.

btw Jean Donde (remember him? ) made his debut for Hamburg as a LM yesterday. Hope we get to see him more next season if he does well on loan there.

After last weeks humiliation against Bayern, super Ebi scored this week in Dortmunds 3-0 win against Mainz! :star:

I'll be real interested to see how he'll be when he comes back. Should be good as a stronger Smolarek will be good and Castelen has been driving me potty with his inconsistancy.

he's recently signed a new contract with us till 2008 but it's trus that he's said that he'd want to stay at Dortmund and I guess I'd too if I was him but the question probably will be whether Dortmund could afford him and whether they'd even be allowed to play in the Bundesliga next season überhaupt

Ebi may get new chances if there is a new coach for next season at Feyenoord. That is likely the case. On the other hand, he may well just be a bench-sitter playing the bit-parts again. Coz he isn't a player that Feyenoord desperately needs.

With Castelen on the right and that new Belgian bought for the future. And Goor and Leonardo on the left, I don't see how Ebi will become a starter anytime soon.
