I was waiting to have one of my two favourite Italian clubs back in Serie A to start following them closely and today I've realised they still didn't even have a thread on XT. Well, here it is.

What a comeback to Serie A! No more no less with a fantastic win at San Siro against AC Milan!

...and here's the final sentence of La Gazzetta dello Sport's article about the match that pretty much sums up what happened today on the pitch:

(...) La vittoria per gli emiliani appare così più che meritata. Utile per far capire ad Ancelotti che oltre al talento (Arrigoni dixit) occorrono anche gli operai. (...) :proud:

Good win for Bologna today, it was a tough match to start Serie A but the players were up to it and it didn't seem like Milan's offense totally clicked. Wouldn't mind if Bologna stayed up at the end of the season.

Btw Filipe, what is your other favorite Italian club?

The transfer campaign has been very uneven. Despite today's good result they will struggle, imo.

Chievo looks like the most solid team of the promoted teams, even if they lost Obinna.

Uneven they only lost 2 players and added Volpi, Lanna, Di Vaio, Mudingayi... experienced Serie A players... The squad is decent, they will remain in A I am (a little) sure.

Mudingayi is a decent addition, but those old players you mention (+Zenoni) are bets, largely, as are the South Americans (who weren't used today, btw).

Di Vaio hasn't hit a hot streak for ages.

Volpi is hardly a bet, still a good player. Zenoni is crap, but thats one of a number. Vailani seems a good addition from B and they have good experience. Loads of players who have done it at the top level.

I agree, I cant see Bologna going down. Siena, Reggina or Lecce are a lot worse and Bologna has a nice team I have to admit. Vailani played a great match today, didnt really know him before this match.

Siena were a steadygoing, solid team last season and have lost only Manninger (replaced by Curci) and Loria. Oh, and Locatelli.

Reggina's Foti will do some shady fixes to try and keep Reggina afloat once again. :D

Bologna's defense especially today is cause for concern and the attack wasn't impressive either despite two lucky punches.

Cagliari suck too, though.... and Lecce have a really poor team.

Have to disagree about Siena. They're slightly a step ahead of those teams.

As for Bologna, i didn't see the game so i won't comment. They seem solid on paper to avoid the drop. I'm curious to see Bernacci in action. The media seems to think he can be a surprise

You seem to be really upset with Bologna's win against your rivals. Are you jealous or you simply can't stand seeing other teams doing what yours can't?

Morierinho has always been one of those who seems more negative than others :D

Inter can't beat Milan? :howler:

I just don't get carried away because Milan are beaten at home. Hardly something to get carried away over. :D
