4. Nashville 15 88
5. Colorado 14 80
6. Los Angeles 13 79
6. Edmonton 14 79
8. Vancouver 13 78
8. Anaheim 16 78
10. San Jose 16 76

Here are the current standings and the teams that still have a shot at making the playoffs. If i had to predict who makes it in the last few playoffs spots left i like Anaheim and San Jose to take over the LA Kings and Vancouver Canucks in the West. In the East i think Montreal will hang on to the 8th spot and if they dont then i like the Thrashers to sneak in and yes the Leafs are done!

The biggest jump over the past week has been by the Ducks who have jumped from 8th to 5th place and they have 2 games in hand so its not impossible for them to still get the 4th spot but i think Nashville has that pretty much wrapped up. Dallas is coming strong as well only 4 points behind Detroit from getting the number 1 spot. Although i dont think its gonna matter much because these playoffs are gonna be full of upsets in my opinion.

dont tell me we might see ANOTHER dallas v edmonton first round match up.
That would be something and i think Edmonton has enough to knock off the Stars cause after all there are no shootouts in the playoffs :D At this point as a Wings fan i dont want to see the Oilers or Canucks in the 1st round i hope the Ducks drop or we go down to 2nd cause i really want to play them and pay them back for that 2003 sweep. :fero:

The mood is one of uncertainty right now, here in Edmonton.

Going down 3-2 to Minnesota was a real downer, the fans here are jumping on/off the playoff bandwagon all the time. I believe our next game is with LA tonight or tommorow, that's a must win game for both teams. It could potentially be the final nail in the coffin for one of these clubs.

It's gonna be Ottawa and Detroit in the final. I hope Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Shanahan, Stevie Y and co are ready for the physical punishment they'll get for Anton Volchenkov and Zdeno Chara.

Its not gonna happen no two number 1's play each other in the Final it just almost never happens i can bet you that one or possibly both of these teams wont make it there. It will all depend on the way the game is called if the refs **** things up once the playoffs start and let the intereferance and dirty play go on like in the past then i could easily see the Wings get knocked out by a team like the Flames or Predators. As far as Ottawa goes if you dont have a healthy Hasek i doubt that you can make it far especially if you end up playing a team with big offense like the Hurricanes or Flyers. My prediction is if the Rangers get matched up against the Devils or Canadiens in the first round i will guarantee it right now that they will lose.

This basically sums up the Oilers season, so close yet so far..
2:50 to go and the Sharks are leading the Canucks 4-3 if it holds then the Oilers are in. ;)
