BELGRADE -- Thursday – Year 2006 marks 150 years since the birth of Serbia’s greatest scholar, Nikola Tesla.

A ceremony to honour him will be held on July 10, which will be attended by some of the most prominent scholars from around the world. Another ceremony to pay tribute to Tesla is in the plans for October as well.

The council responsible for celebrating the jubilee of Tesla’s birth has started up an action to have Tesla’s remains relocated to Belgrade, and one possible plan is to have an urn with Tesla’s ashes on display at the Saint Sava temple.

In Tesla’s tribute, the Belgrade Airport has also changed its name this year to the “Belgrade-Nikola Tesla” public company, and the thermoelectric plant in Obrenovac will on March 7, celebrate 30 years since the giving of the name “Nikola Tesla” to the power plant.

And it's a brilliant idea to name the Belgrade airport after him, he definitely deserves it.
