Lost our last three away games, would be nice to change that here. Emenike should be back after his trip to Nigeria so he'll be up top. Thank goodness only one more week of Bekir "The Hack" Irtegun until Egemen returns. Have to wait and see who makes the trip, it was reported that some players have knocks like Meireles, Emre and Cristian. Caner is back so he will probably take the left wing with Kadlec behind him. Unless Ersun puts Caner at LB, Alper on the left and three CM's.

Emenike was back at practice today which is good news, because like lazy stated above, Kuyt was awful up top. Cristian and Meireles are fully fit but Gokhan has been training individually. He is expected to make the trip though.

Alves has injured his shoulder and is reportedly out for 3 weeks. Who will partner Bekir at RB on Monday night? I would go for Hasan Ali at LB and pull Kadlec in to CB. Surely we won't see Serdar Kesimal thrown in there?

Serdar trained individually today, so it will probably be what you mentioned.

We all expected the Fener CBs to be Kadlec-Bekir but to not take Serdar Kesimal on the away trip doesn't make sense to me. What happens if one of them gets injured during the game?

I'd rather have a specialist CB like Serdar (even though he hasn't played football all season) than a makeshift solution like Topal at CB. Not to mention how it can disrupt the balance and stability of the FB midfield if Topal slides back to CB.

Aren't you the lucky one? Well I will try to stream it on my phone during my lunch break, I'm leaning towards the second half that I'll watch it but I may just have it on the whole time.

We welcome Fener to Elazig for the first time in 3669 days since they last played in Elazig. Last season our stadium was being prepared after years of neglect meaning the game had to be played in Izmir. We've had the best results against Istanbul teams in our FB games:

2002-03
FB 4-Elazig 2
Elazig 3-FB 3

2003-04
FB 7 - Elazig 1
Elazig 0 - FB 1

2012-13
Elazig 1 - FB 1
FB 2 - Elazig 2

2013-14
FB 4 - Elazig 0

No league wins against the Istanbul trio but we have managed to give FB some trouble (apart from the 7-1 and 4-0 losses in Istanbul), especially in home games. We've won our last 4 home games (league and cup) so the players have their tails up.

A win for us would be wonderful as we would leapfrog Antalya and get even further away from the bottom three but I'd take a point. We can't lose this game against such a vulnerable (in terms of missing players) Fener side.

May the best team win (or draw!) in a clean game without injuries!

It was idiotic from our manager at the time. We went ahead 1-0 from a corner. We got the goal we wanted and we still attacked mindlessly. We let in 7 that day but it could easily have been 14. There was no tactical discipline from us in that match.

Tuncay was our kryptonite between 2002-04. Everything he tried came off. I remember he scored from 25 yards out with his shin! Bize leblebi gibi gol atiyordu pezevenk! :)

Wow, I am surprised. I was sure you would field Hasan Ali at LB and have Caner a lot closer to goal where he can do more damage.

Is this a 4-2-3-1 of 4-3-3? Because I can see it being a 4-3-3 with Topal slightly behind Topuz and Cristian (like Busquets for Barca) with Alper and Kuyt on the wings with Emenike down the middle? But it might also be a classic 4-2-3-1.

Any thoughts?

Agh! Ball into the box from Tello and the Fener CBs are all over the place. That's twice now that Bekir and Kadlec have been involved in a mix up from a ball into the box.

Deniz did brilliantly to get it to Serdar. Volkan pulled off a great save to deny Serdar.
