So the Suning era continues along its hapless path to nowhere in particular.

2 years in and no progress has been made vis-à-vis the Tohir era.

The Suning era has brought us:

1) A drop from 4th place in Serie to 7th and then 5th, i.e. a 2-year overall regression from the pre-Suning era.

2) A main shareholder that is not allowed to spend its own cash on Inter. I am not talking about FFP but rather the ban on foreign sporting investment issued by the Chinese Communist Party. This is really quite hilarious. Imagine if Qatar Sports Investments wasn't allowed to put money into PSG or if Sheik Mansour wasn't allowed to invest in Man City. Or if Ecor/the Agnellis couldn't channel money into Juventus. A farcical concept, but one we now have to live with.

3) The worst signing in Inter's history (Gabigol), followed closely by a handful of some of the worst and most expensive flops (Joao Mario, Vecino, Dalbert).

4) General loss of stability and an appalling working culture that has led to the resignation of Mancini and Sabatini, 2 of the most successful and respected professionals in the game

I expect more resignations and a disappointing, under-funded transfer campaign in the summer.

I just hope the overall damage this venture does to their public profile will lead them to sell the club next year or the year after.

The future's grim, the future's #Suning

It's worth re-iterating now that the club has failed to reach its minimum goal for 2017/18

Re-re-re-re-reiterating

:D

EL's cool. We will be in good company with Chelsea and Arsenal.

Hopefully a better European campaign than the one in 16-17..

Cool. Minus tens of millions of euros. And possibly minus Icardi and/or Rafinha and/or Cancelo.

Sounds great.

Glad there are no consequences to missing out on the CL. We can all go back to our Javier Zanetti bedspreads and dream about winning the Coppa Italia with a bunch of Fiorentina / French league players.

So, it begins. Bye bye Cancelo

Valencia refuse Cancelo discount
By Football Italia staff

Valencia have refused to allow Inter a discount or late payment for Joao Cancelo, according to reports.

The full-back is on loan with the Nerazzurri, and they can buy him outright for €35m before May 30.

However, the Beneamata have Financial Fair Play targets to meet, and must raise €40-50m by June 30 to avoid being in breach of their agreements.

It was therefore hoped that Valencia would allow Inter to pay for Cancelo after that date, but today’s Gazzetta dello Sport reports that proposal has been rejected.

There have already been offers in excess of €50m from the Premier League, while Real Madrid and Juventus are also interested.

Los Che therefore have no incentive to offer discounts or delays on the Portuguese international.

Valencia will sign Geoffrey Kondogbia outright for €25m from Inter, and have confirmed they’ll pay within the pre-established time frames.

The usual brilliance there from Ausilio. Take a 15m euro loss on Kondogbia while making an unaffordable agreement for Cancelo.

Well, back to D'Ambrosio at right back I guess.

Thank you Ausilio, thank you Suning, thank you Chinese Communist Party

It's not like we are going bankrupt and getting relegated a la Parma/Napoli/Fiorentina. Man up a bit mate.

Though it is quite absurd that we originally agreed to pay the Cancelo money in May, when we aren't able to pay in May due to ffp/financial year. Should have agreed on paying in June/July/August from the beginning instead of paying in May if a May payment goes against ffp/balance sheet.

Why don't you man up and actually expect and demand that a club with 50 million fans, 3 European Cups and 18 Scudettos start competing at the top level of European and Italian football, instead of being a laughing stock.

The usual Ausillio magic.

That was why it was a positive that we signed Sabatini, but oh, wait.....

Valencia have taken Inter to the cleaners. Not only did they get Murillo for next to nothing, they have also got Kondogbia at a huge discount and seen Cancelo's value rocket so he can be sold to Real / Man United for 40 - 50 million instead of 35.

Look of course I want us to win like before, but I am not going to boycott watching (like you wrote before) just because we are 5th or because we may not spend much.

Football is like this, bad times and good times. As an Interista you should be used to it. Otherwise just go with an easier team to support like juve, real, Bayern or Barca.

We went 4 decades and a half without winning the European Cup so I am satisfied enough to have seen us win it at least once before I die.

We went 17 years without a Scudetto. So 7-8 years isn't the end of the world.

Your whining or 'demands' on XT will not change anything, red.

In terms of investment, Suning have done decently. Better than the last couple of years of Moratti and better than Thohir.

The difference between us playing EL or CL next season is Davide Santon. Hopefully this will be his last season at Inter. The points he cost us would have been enough to finish 3rd.

Of course Spalletti us the one who picks the team, so he shares blame. Would still keep him for next season though.

This is weird...

Because Inter had the cash to complete the Lautoro Martínez deal for €20m (even though Inter play with one untouchable striker in Icardi and already have a sub - Eder).... so the Cancelo deal could've easily been completed with the €25m received from Kondogbia + adding €10m.....

Cancelo doesn't look that good. Why would you want to spend that much for him anyway?

They need a good backup for their front 3. Lautaro to serve that purpose.

These Juve blokes watched one Inter match this season and seem to think they're qualified to judge everything Inter. Piss off back to your holes.

Cancelo isn't very good though. He's on the money there. Fine for squad rotation but it seems he's not going to accept that.

Cancelo is the best RB in Serie A at the moment. Though admittedly he doesn't have proper competition as other right backs are meh.

And wait, squad rotation? He's been a regular starter for a while now.
