Real Sociedad have been linked with a £5 million bid for Sunderland keeper Thomas Sorensen.
The San Sebastian side's coach Javier Clemente may see the Danish international as a replacement for long-serving keeper Alberto.
However, the 24 year-old keeper, who has performed impressively for The Black Cats since joining from OB Odense in a £500,000 move two summers ago, signed a new four-year contract in March and Peter Reid is unlikely to be prepared to listen to any offers for his giant shot-stopper.
Sorensen was his country's second choice keeper for Euro 2000, behind Peter Schmeichel, and suffered an elbow injury during training, but should recover in time for the start of next season.
