anything less than 3 points is a dissapointment given their despicable performance against liverpool.......stat of the day: man united were beaten by chelsea more than any other team in premier league....

Team news:

Cristiano Ronaldo and Dimitar Berbatov could start up front for Manchester United against Chelsea on Sunday.

Berbatov has recovered from a knee injury, while Ronaldo made his comeback from ankle surgery as a substitute in the 0-0 draw with Villareal.

Chelsea defender John Terry is available for the match after a successful appeal against a red card.

But Blues manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has said striker Didier Drogba is still not fit enough to play for 90 minutes.

With uncertainty over the Ivory Coast international's fitness, Scolari could be tempted to name the same starting XI that has beaten Manchester City and Bordeaux in the past week.

Ferguson faces selection dilemmas over Nemanja Vidic's replacement after the centre-back was suspended after he was sent off in the 2-1 defeat by Liverpool.

Wes Brown could move into the centre of defence, with the fit-again Gary Neville slotting in at right-back.

But Jonny Evans, 20, is also in the Scot's thinking after he played very well in the 0-0 draw with Villarreal on Wednesday.

"I need to work out whether I go with Evans' ability but lack of experience or whether I opt for Wes' experience and Gary at full-back," said Ferguson.

Neville played just once for United last season - as a substitute in the 1-0 Champions League quarter-final second-leg win over Roma - due to an ankle injury.

No bigger challenge than Chelsea - Giggs
"Gary was only playing his second competitive match on Wednesday but he did very well," added Ferguson.

"That will bring him on if I decide to play him on Sunday but Evans was excellent as well."

"Jonny was the big plus. For a young man of 20, he shows great maturity in his game.

"He reads the game well, which is a fantastic asset to have at such a young age.

"He is commanding in the air and a good user of the ball and that gives me confidence that he could step right into the first team with no worries."

While Evans impressed, there were signs of rustiness in Neville's game, particularly in his crossing, but it was his first competitive start since breaking his ankle against Bolton in March 2007.

Gullit knows Man Utd will test Scolari
"I just need games," said the 33-year-old defender. "Having been out for so long I need a run in the side.

"But it is difficult to get that at the moment because Wes Brown has performed so well and deserves to play.

"It is just a case of remaining patient, keeping fit and training well every day.

"I have made steady progress and when you look at the programme of matches we have coming up I am sure there will be enough games for everyone."

BIG-MATCH FACTS
Chelsea get a first opportunity to avenge their defeat to Manchester United in the Champions League final. Victory would see them open up a nine point advantage over the domestic and European champions in the Premier League table.

Both clubs had differing fortunes in Europe in midweek; Chelsea equalled their record home win in the Champions League with a 4-0 eclipse of Bordeaux, while a much changed United were held to a goalless draw by Villarreal at Old Trafford in their opening group match.

This is Manchester United's second successive 'Big Four' match-up in the Premier League, after last Saturday's 2-1 away loss to Liverpool. They are in danger of suffering successive league defeats for the first time in 122 outings.

Luiz Felipe Scolari has made a most impressive start as manager of Chelsea with four wins and one draw from five matches in all competitions; defeat for United here will equal the Red Devils' worst ever start to a Premier League season.

United have been beaten more times by Chelsea in the Premier League than by any other club (10) and have dropped more points to them than any other team (56).

The Red Devils were the last club to beat Chelsea in a Premier League game by more than a single goal (23 September 2007); Chelsea were the last club to beat United by more than a single goal (29 April 2006).

Distance between the clubs: 204 miles (328 kilometres)

Utd will win a penalty from a dive, we won't get a penalty from a clear tackle, Rooney will spit at one of our players and shove the referee, Ronaldo will dive around, and the game will end 1-1 with Chelsea having 10 players from a ridiculous red card.

To Dark Andy: I hope there are no ridiculous antics by the officials this weekend. Then again, I'm a hopeful idiot. You're right. It'll end up a draw on some stupid call.

Considering terrys rescinded red card (despite his cynical foul on a player through on goal) and Didier Drogbas & Joe Coles tendancy to dive , its funny that you consider chelski to be a victimised team. Think the term "Dont throw stones in glasshouses comes to mind".

Drogba dived about twice in the entire last season, none in the season before that. Joe Cole about the same. Ronaldo dives as much as both Drogba & Cole combined in a single MATCH that they do in a season.

This isn't 2006 anymore.

And the Red was rescinded completely fairly, if you think that is a Red, then you'd have lost a lot of matches yourself.

PS: Fix your quotations.

Eh, ronaldo only dived about twice last year aswell, was making a mockery of your point on him!!! Every pundit pointed out that ronaldo and drogba have improved since they stopped the messing!!!

And a foul like Terrys was a red, blatantly rugby tackled a player running through on goal . Its also funny that NORMALLY the only way the red can be rescinded is by the ref who wouldnt agree to it but got demoted as a result. Somebody at stamford bridge seems to be able to bend a couple of ears their way!! :rollani: (I think they call that England captain syndrome where in the english fa rulebook it states that any english captain can getoff whatever punishment they get for whatever reason when it suits them, first shown when Shearer got off for kicking a fellow player in the head!!!!)

Funny that you think the rest of the world is against you when it comes to red cards in games and dives, but when yet they all agree that terrys wasnt a red (obviously you got the rest of the worlds opinion from the chelski forum :howler: ).

1-0 Drogba with the goal. I'd say we will play

---------------Cech------------
Boswinga---Terry--Carv---A.Cole
--------------Mikel--------------
-------Deco---------Ballack-----
-J.Cole---------Lampard----------
------------Drogba--------------

Difficult game but as long as the midfield ticks; we should be able to dominate possession and make Scholes and Anderson obsolete; hence rendering Cronaldo, Rooney and/or Tevez alot less involved in the game. A.Cole to keep Cronaldo in his back pocket as usual only letting him go after 90 min, Cronaldo to go to the other flank or mid as he tries to find some place for himself-only to get men handled by Boswinga and Mikel.

Drogba to cause alot of trouble to whatever CB pairing MU come up with. While J.Cole will hopefully have his A Game On.

This one aint gonna be pretty

Feel around your head, can you spot an odd lump? I wouldn't go to the doctor with that, it's probably benign.
Ah if rational thought fails, turn to good old slagging.

Not surprised, I hate myself for even replying directly to complete morons, oh god Im doing it now, maybe thats why I have that lump!!:smileani:

For the attention of those who think "the world" agreed with Terrys card being rescinded, heres Andy Gray's thoughts:

It was nothing to do with him being last man, nothing to do with there being other defenders around, it was a simple case of the referee deeming it a rugby-type tackle. There is no place for that in the game and that's why he was sent off.

Now serious foul play carries a three-match ban, simple as that. I was really, really surprised that the FA overruled it. Mark Halsey refused to change his mind which shows how determined he was to stick by the decision, and I was amazed they overturned it.

To go against Mark Halsey in the way they did was, I think, wrong. He didn't get it wrong; he didn't send Terry off because it was a professional foul and he was the last man, he sent him off because it was a cynical tackle - and that carries a three-match ban.

Why dont you cry about so called injustices against chelski now? Truth is that chelski are already spoiled by the FA (cant imagine what would happen to a united player if they did what Ashley Cole did to a ref when booked, probobley a season ban at the least).
