.................MAS NO Ronaldo!!
Thats fine, he needs a rest ... + we need to test Adriano or Luis Fabiano in case R9 will be injured one day. They will not be able to replace him if they never carried the yellow shirt

I also would give a chance to Mancini & Dede resting Cafu & R.Carlos

How is the awful bordon playing in germany??

I remember that Romario once put this guy in the floor with a dribble a couple of years ago

I like the call-up, finally new faces will be tested... however, there's something odd with the distribution of positions there. Felipe has been playing as a forward/rightwinger for Flamengo for a while now, and quite successfully too.

And looking at the squad, there are two specialist strikers, Adriano and Luis Fabiano. The other forward-minded players are Ronaldinho Gaucho, Kaka, Alex and Felipe. Now... in the latest matches Ronaldinho Gaucho has been our starting 2nd forward, and Alex and Kaka should compete for the attacking-mid position... is Felipe being called as an alternative for the support-forward position, then?

Maybe... but who's the reserve for the attack, if needed? Julio Baptista? :googly: Pushing Kaka to attack in case Ronaldinho Gaucho gets injured would mean changing two sectors of the team instead of just one. There are a lot of midfielders in that list and not many forwards... that's all I'm saying.

Anyway, I hope it works. ;)

Bordon is doing very, very good in Germany. He is very good in marking and it's nearly impossible for opposing attackers to win a header against him. Physically, he is very strong.
In the CL he was very good, too. When Stuttgart played vs. Chelsea in the round of the last 16, their defense was able to completely shut down Chelsea ( The only goal of the series was an own goal by Stuttgart defender Meira..). The Stuttgart defense is outstanding this season, and Bordon is a decisive player for them. In addition to that, Bordon is a very good free-kicker. He also can initiate (counter-)attacks with his precise passing, but he is not a defender who does attacking runs and can go forward like Lucio...

Funny thing is that I saw the kicker list where they listed the stars of the Bundesliga based on contribution this year (I believe it was from the Christmas break, or perhaps it's updated throughout... and the rankings for best central defender, the thing us calcio fans always mock Brazilians for read:

1: Bordon
2: Juan
3: Lucio

Well, the actual Kicker-ranking is :

1. Lucio (2,74)
2. Juan (2,83)
3. Bordon (2,84)

:D ..

I think Parreira is asking to resign and have vacations...Bordon ??? 5 DEFENDERS ? Edu ? Now he picked Dede ? What is about those experiences we are sure he wont repeat ?

so, Edmilson is here to be the DM ? So, Dida-Cafu- Lucio-Roque-Roberto Carlos-Edmilson-Renato-Ze-Kaka-Ronaldinho-Adriano ? And the others will enjoy the view ?

What is the point for we to argue there is good level of game here, good players, there is not such superiority, that played in any place of europe does not mean better quality if the head of brazlian team make all effort to show that playing for a medium team, playing for a few months, in Europe means more than years for a big team here ? Go, Parreira, go to train teams in turkey and let someone call the BRAZILIAN team...

bordon is technically challenged and should not be called. we might as well call odvan(ex vasco player). dede isn't playing great football right now and i hate his style(it's not suited for the yellow shirt. maybe germany). the question is is he better than junior? i think not. but i hate to see players who are not regular in their clubs play for the nt(this is brazil). leo is 5 times better technically than dede. it's about time mancini was called up and he should start over cafu(he's been playing like pure crap recently. but don't expect anything good from this friendly.

Edu forcing the friendship a bit can be in teh squad.

But Dede & Bordon.... are really quite average to say the least.

Bordon is so good , that even that dude bordon is gone had tomake a nickname in XT celebrating that the guy left Sao Paulo FC:eek: :D

I agree that Edu shouldn´t be there
Bordon seem to have a very bad reputation in Brazil
in Germany he is doing great by comparison
Leandro of Cruzerio
or Adriano of Coritiba would be to build for futur
but maybe they´re not ready
or maybe Maxwell of Ajax
Aurelio of Valencia not fully returned after injury
Cafu played quite well in last CL game

I strongly disagree.

Dede is miles better than Junior and a way better "defender" than Roberto Carlos (who currently is simply pathetic in defence) and he is technically gifted as well .... perhaps some Milan-fans remember the match where he juggled the ball past 4 of their players ... pure magic ;)

Bordon is miles better than Roque Junior, he is a better marker, reads the game well. Both of them aren't very skilled (but Bordon has a great powerful shot) so he is useless going forward but thats the job Lucio, Edmilson etc. I don't know if he sucked in Sao Paulo but if so, he developed great in Europe. I don't like his style but I would take him over Roque Junior any day.
