Spurs deny Postiga rumour
By Chris Pope for THEspursweb.com

Tottenham have quashed rumours that unsettled striker Helder Postiga is set to join Spanish club Celta Vigo on loan.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, stand-in manager David Pleat described the speculation as "pure nonsense" and insisted that the Portuguese starlet wasn¡¦t going anywhere.

Postiga has yet to live up to his billing so far in the Premiership and has only scored one first-team goal but Pleat said: "Helder played last night in the reserves and scored. I'm sure Celta Vigo are looking at a number of forwards to loan but Postiga is not going anywhere. He is far too valuable to us."

The chances of Postiga going out on loan are made even more remote following the contentious decision to allow in-form striker Freddie Kanoute to link up with Mali in the African Nations Cup.

Wouldn't help him going to Celta with adapting etc. plus if he does impress at Celta we'll get peanuts for him since they've got severe financial problems.

Celta Vigo drop Tottenham's Helder for Chilean Pinilla
tribalfootball.com - January 15, 2004

Celta Vigo have struck personal terms with Chievo Verona striker Mauricio Pinilla.
The Chilean youngster has agreed to move to Celta for the second-half of the season on-loan. The Spanish Liga club are keen to boost their attack and also approached Tottenham's Helder Postiga this week.

Celta are now waiting on Chievo and Inter Milan, which share Pinilla's registration, to give the deal the green light.
