This whole year proved it, and even this simple thread about the new season of Sporting (mind you) is also proving it: the JJ trauma really hit lampiões hard.

Me likes it. :D

Really lol If anything, what this year proved is that we dont need JJ to win.
As usual you did not grasp the point being discussed but that's not surprising.

Anyway, you're right. You did not need JJ to win. As your president once said when talking about Porto's influence in the meanders of our football: "to win leagues one needs the right people in the right places". :poke:

News about new players for the coming season...

A couple of weeks ago Sporting confirmed the following new players for 2016/17:

Alan Ruiz (22, ARG, Attacking Midfielder, ex-Colón)
Federico Ruiz (27, ARG, Right Midfielder, ex-Colón)
Lukas Spalvis (21, LIT, Forward, ex-Aalborg)

Today the club announced that the Serbian international defensive midfielder Radosav Petrovic (ex-Dynamo Kiev) signed a 4 year deal with a €45M buy out option.

hey.....hope u are well filipe :D

( congrats on the derby win:p...would have prefered a draw...but was a good game, and a fair result in the end:D)
I'm very well, thanks. ;)

Yes, it was a good game with a more than fair result. It's great to see Sporting coming out of a clássico against Porto and watch them cry about the ref. How things change, innit? :D

I like how Filipe has successfully performed a season reboot by erasing all of the posts since August. Is the squad ready for Match Day 1 of the CL? This group will be a cracker!

Is there odds on whether there'll be a break in Felipe's busy schedule should fortunes turn congenial?

Could you imagine how productive he would be if he detached himself from the internet and actually did anything?

I did the math before, but let's do it one more time: He's currently at 36,665 posts and is listed as joining in August 2004. To keep things simple, let's go with 12 years since it was at the end of August that his "job" apparently noticed they've been paying a guy to surf the internet and not do work.

36,665 divided by 96 is 381.93 posts per month.

If we divide that by 30, it gives us 12.73 per day. Every day. Doesn't matter if nothing is going on or if there is a death in the family.

To give that context, Kim Kardashian West is frequently described as not a great thinker by her critics; but she has parlayed her Twitter account into a big revenue generator. She reportedly can charge 10K for a sponsored tweet. If you take her total tweets ( 22.5K) and do the same math, she tweets roughly 8.15 times per day. Someone who gets paid stupid money to dick around on the internet posts less than he has.

So the short answer is yes, I expect he will post again when he is inspired by Sporting.

8 points back and out of Europe. May need to hit the reset button again. Maybe redial it back to last December and see if they can win the two national titles that Sporting awarded itself.

Sporting out of Europe.

Sporting out of the Taca de Correio.

Sporting out of the Taca de Portugal.

8 points back of the three time defending Champions at the half way point.

The new narrative for the best team in Portugal is that JJ the tactician is fine, but JJ the talent selector is the problem. They need to go back to having others shop for the groceries and all will be OK. Especially since firing JJ right before an election, and right after giving him an extension to 2019 (Which means he's owed 20 million), would make the club look silly.

And if there is one thing Sporting does not do is look silly.

they have a problem for sure, and its their president in the 1st place, the way he antagonized a large sector of sporting's entourage, to the way he went after the refs, the uefa, footy financial agents...and of course benfica in a way that made him look like a juve leo member instead of a president of a big institution like sporting is

we had a president like that ourselves and it hurt us, its hurting sporting aswell

JJ is very arrogant and bruno de carvalho claimed he was the star of the club, that only made his ego grow, and leave the players in an awkward position, i dont think JJ has the team with him since that game with real madrid, after what he said at the press conference

JJ messed up the two following years at benfica too, and with great talent at hand, so for us is nothing new. He has many qualities, but he has flaws too, biggest being the way he is unable to learn from mistakes and realise he is part of a team, nothing can be done by himself alone, they all win and they all lose

BDC cant really fire him, becoz he built his strategy for the club around him, and also lets face it, they cant afford to pay him to leave

When you cry wolf after every match that doesn't bring victory, your protests begin to sound like white noise.

Sporting should have taken the lead on Alan Ruiz's goal on Saturday. 100% clear bad call. In the aftermath, the protests blend in with every other excuse filled failure. A high point being when fans lashed out at Ronaldo for cheating when he earned the foul that led to his goal at Bernabeu.

They are also proclaiming that they have been robbed of 14 points due to 8 unearned penalties. To put that in perspective, Sporting currently has 2 penalties earned. With an additional 8, that would double the current league leader (Guimaraes with 5). Sporting led the league in penalties earned last season with 11. So it appears that they need a baseline of 20 penalties per season to have a level playing field. Maybe once they begin receiving at least double anyone else in the liga, they will concede that any shortcomings on the field are their own.

No mention of any points they have erroneously earned.

yes, they keep focusing on ref mistakes that affect all of us, some more than others, but all of us, if anything they usually are the ones earning more pk's season afetr season so i dont get it.....they need to focus on real issues, or wont go anywhere, and simply waste the talent they stilldo have ( but not always play...)
