Argentina
Bolivia
Chile
Colombia
Ecuador
Paraguay
Peru
Uruguay
Venezuela

Top 4 to qualify.
The 5th placed side meets Asia's "number 5"

Games well underway but shock result last night:

Colombia 4 Uruguay 0

Paraguay bottom of the qualifying group. Bit surprising. They're normally up there with their tight defence

Venezuela to hopefully make it for the first time ever :proud:

Of course Uruguay and Argentina will qualify, but that means one or two subpar teams frm South America will automatically go to Brazil, because Brazil is the host and are already qualified. Anyways, my predictions for the next games:

Chile 2-1 Colombia
Uruguay 2-0 Ecuador
Paraguay 1-0 Venezuela
Peru 1-3 Argentina

I was just about to say that Brazil wasn't in the poll. :drunk:

time for bed I think.

On another note is there not a way to split this qualifying campaign into two groups. It last for ages with so many games.

I've a feeling Columbia will make it automatically too.

and they stunned Chile in Santiago

Uruguay currently 0-1 down to Ecuador  and starting with their 3 hitmen up front too in Suarez, Forlan and Cavani

Will be curious to see what this Ramirez guy is all about

Uruguay defensively are shakey though, and they don't have enough depth in all parts of the field. Though they shouldn't drop points at home to Ecuador

Still, even if you finish 5th you have a playoff against the 5th place Asian team which should be too many problems

Muslera rugby tackles Benitez and instead the Ecuadorian gets booked for diving :howler:

should've been 0-2 and a red card

Uruguay have had their chances though. Suarez hitting the woodwork and Rodriguez just

Uruguay had trouble all game with Ecuador's high octane style, plus Lugano + Godin aren't the quickest and were shaky most the match. I feel Tabarez is loyal to some of his players otherwise any one of Coates, Caceres or even Victorino could/should get a game.

Valencia gave Pereira a bath in the first half. Caicedo was also excellent before going off.

 at Ecuador's physique. EPL sides could take a closer look.

Ecuador's Erazo especially looked a beast

Teofilo has been on fire again but this time for his NT. It was such a shame he was a total jerk to Trabzonspor. They treated him well but he couldn't get along.

Caicedo and Rondon are great SudAmericano forwards. I've been impressed with Rondon's performance at club.

I think Colombia even finish second, I wasn't impressed with Uruguay the other night. I think they are too slow in some positions and Suarez is just a strange player. He's very hit and miss in my opinion and plays with his head down too much.

As usual, a week of very interesting games. Leaders Argentina clashes with Uruguay and then goes for a dangerous trip to Santiago de Chile. Ecuador has been a positive surprise so far and could climb higher if they succeed their matches against Chile and Venezuela (away). Uruguay has a tough program with two away matches, contrary to Bolivia. Colombia and Venezuela only play once.
