These are the Next coming games in the CONMEBOL WC 2002 campaign and some of my predictions:

Venezuela just seems to be 1 step behind all the other teams!!
18-07-00 Asunción 20:40 Paraguay 1-3 Brazil
Home advantage will give Paraguay a sniff but nothing more against the best team in the world!!
19-07-00 La Paz 16:00 Bolivia 1-2 Chile
Home games for Bolivia are a big boost but Bolivia just seem to be losing form as Chile is gaining!!
19-07-00 Buenos Aires 21:00 Argentina 4-1 Ecuador
No chance for Ecuador against the almighty Argentina in their back yard!!
19-07-00 Lima 21:10 Peru 1-0 Colombia
Im tiping an upset with a tight 1-0 home win to Peru, i think they can bounce back after that dissapointing loss!!

My thoughts :

Uruguay - Venezuela 2-0 : Uruguay will not get a big score but they are go to win against Venezuela i think.

Paraguay - Brazil 1-1 : Brazil won't loose but Paraguay plays good games at home so this one is easy (i hope)

Bolivia - Chile 1-1 : I hope for a win from Chile but it won't be easy.

Argentina - Ecuador 4-0 : Poor Ecuador just doesn't have a chance

Peru - Colombia 1-0 : Peru will win this but it will be very close.

URUGUAY-VENEZUELA:2-0
PARAGUAY-BRAZIL:this one is tricky.i think it will be 1-2.
but it all depends if luxemburgo plays an attack with franca and ronaldinho up front it can be 1-3 or 1-4
BOLIVIA-CHILE:1-2
ARGENTINA-ECUADOR:4-0 OR 5-0
PERU-COLMBIA:1-1

What I Think :

Uruguay - Venezuela 2-1 : Uruguay wins but doesnt convince anyone.

Paraguay - Brazil 3-1 : Brazil is bitter abot what happened at maracana last month, thy'll take it on Paraguay who will be without Brizuela (suspended) and is playing like crap.

Bolivia - Chile 2-1 : Although they'll playing at 2,200 ft., DC United (USA) did not allow Etcheverry and Moreno (clearly the best Bolivian players)join their national team, therefore Chile, who has a shaky defence, will win in the altitude.

Argentina - Ecuador 3-2 : Its going to be close, I have a feeling on that, don't know why, I just do.

Peru - Colombia 1-2 : Peru won't do it, Maturana is Colombian remember?.

Remeber, Batistuta is injured...4 goals without bati...I don't see it. I guess now we'll se if Crespo was worth all those millions.

but i posted this before he was injured so yeah i'll change it to 3-0 to argentina but Crespo is a great replacment!!

Bolivia don't have such a big advantage since most of their players play in USA and Mexico don't they? So they would be getting used to lower altitudes!!

I still think chile can win and i don't think chiles defence is too bad!! Reyes, Vargas, Margas!! Plus you've got the wing backs Villaroel (i dont like him!!) Rojas (is he still in the line up?

I've seen Brazils qualifiers and I think that an 0-0 draw away is an quite possible result for them.

Argentina though really impresses me

It's the Paraguayan defence that should bother Brazil above anything, these guys play with a 10 men defense!

That's why a draw is likely.

Well Paraguay can have a great defence but if Chile can put 3 goals past them im sure Brasil will put at least 1!! Brasil just have too much attacking force!!

I think it will be a 2 goal win to Brasil, either 2-0 or 3-1

Well, the mighty Brazilian attack did not manage to break the Uruguayan defense more than once for that matter.

And Paraguay conceded 3 goals on an away game, not a home one. That's why I'm saying that a draw is likely. It's very hard even for the most attacking team to break down an opponent set only to defend in a game. It's difficult to find space to make your game, their mission is just to block it and destroy any sense of good football.


P.S. It's Brasil vs Argentina in San Paulo.
