Apart from all the world cup hype, solari has taken the spanish nationality.. too lazy to write so here's the article:

06/06/2002
Santiago Hernán Solari has sworn the Spanish Constitution this morning, so from next season, he will be allowed to play as a national player on all accounts, which means he will not take up one of the foreign positions. Santiago, who has performed very well this season, feels more integrated in the Spanish life every day. And now that he holds a double Spanish-Argentinean nationality, his integration looks definitive.
After having sworn the Spanish Constitution today Thursday June 6th in the morning, Solari now holds the double Spanish-Argentinean nationality. Santiago Hernán Solari was one of the three Real Madrid foreign players allowed in one lineup, alongside Brazilian Roberto Carlos and Cameroonian Geremi. Brazilian players Savio and Flavio have the French and Spanish nationality respectively, so they were not considered as non-EU players last season.

Solari was born in Rosario (Argentina), on October 7th, 1976. He got to Real Madrid in season 2000/2001 coming from Atlético Madrid. Over these two seasons, Solari has earned the affection of all Madrid fans, together with the respect of his teammates. Vicente del Bosque has given him a lot of opportunities this season, as the Argentinean footballer has appeared in the starting lineup in many games, especially in the final stretch of the campagin. Solari has shown his gratefulness with a fantastic performance.
