mah, screw the performances it's the results that count. juventus have never been a team that prides themselves for playing spectacular football first. being results-oriented has always been the bedrock of our foundation so for me, if we don't win one of the 2 major titles we're gunning for this year or atleast come pretty damn close---performance will mean sqwat.

as for ranieri, i maintain until a solid coach becomes available--a winner--i don't think we should abandon this project for someone inferior or comparable in terms of honours UNLESS ranieri guides us to a disasterous season. spalletti and prandelli play a beautiful idealistic brand of football that's not practical, like most champagne futbol. furthermore, their teams are weak-minded and get shell shocked very easily because they only know how to play 1-way and struggle to adapt. this is not juventus-esque IMO therefore i struggle to see the advantages of signing either one of these two right now although i will concede prandelli's history with us makes me a little more open-minded. spalletti on the other hand is a complete disaster.

since we've achieved a great run of form recently, not to mention a win at madrid in 46 years without even conceding, i have to admit ranieri is doing a great job at the moment. we displayed strong character and tough-style football under the thinkerman. our defensive players hold the key to our success. maybe the run of poor results back on 2 months ago was due to the long-list of injured players. and now with some of them are back in the team, we are slowly getting back to our feet. this could be the real juve ranieri was talking about.

however i am still concern regarding our transfer policy, considering the tight budget we have, the management have to deal big time in terms of which are the right players to buy, unless if we could offload buffon to city for 70 mil and strengthen our squad especially in the midfield.

things are also getting tough with the tight schedule and all that. ranieri and the team must know that they have to give 100% focus. i would rather the serie a title to be sacrificed this term if we could go all the way and win the champions league. but, as for the moment, let's just keep ranieri and then we'll see what happens in the next couple of months. i’ll be judging you in may.

Buffon agrees...... and not even for 70mil but for 40m

Juventus No 1 Gigi Buffon has discussed his injury situation and nominated a surprise contender to inherit the Italian goalkeeping throne.

Buffon was answering readers' questions for Gazzetta.it and he covered a variety of issues starting with his current fitness problems.

“I've had a tear in my adductor and it's partly my own fault,” he explained.

“I had already felt a pain when I tried to rush myself back to play against Palermo when the team were having some problems.

“Things got worse and I found myself with a hole in my adductor, which is slowly recovering. That's why I won't be back until January.”

The ex-Parma man was also asked to discuss how close he came to joining Milan in 2006.

“I am very bound to Juventus and from the moment I agreed to stay after relegation I felt part of a project,” he said.

“The new directors often talk to us players, especially with the old guard. Now I could never play for another Italian team except for Genoa, who I am a big fan of

“But I can confirm that I was close to Milan but then I decided I wouldn't move.

“I didn't feel right with my conscience and I need to be calm to do my best. These considerations wouldn't have come up had Juventus stayed in Serie A and there were other things that weren't going right.

“However, if a team offered £40m for me now, I would be the first to say they should sell me.

“I love Juve and with that sum of money they could galvanise the squad.”

While the Old Lady have put together an impressive run in Serie A, Buffon believes Europe could be the ideal stage for a Bianconeri triumph.

“I think our best chance is in the Champions League,” he claimed.

“We have a mixture of solidarity and experience with the quality needed to make the difference. We showed that in the game against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

“As for the Scudetto, Inter and Milan have more quality and the Rossoneri don't have the Champions League, which can take points away from you in the spring.”

Buffon concluded by maintaining that Italy isn't facing a goalkeeping crisis and he suggested some custodians who could follow in his footsteps.

“It's not true that there aren't any good young goalkeepers in Italy - people just need to have more faith in them,” he stressed.

“Marco Amelia, Gianluca Curci and Antonio Mirante are good, but my favourite is Federico Marchetti at Cagliari - he has a great career ahead of him.
To tell you the truth I'd be really sad to see Buffon leave serie a especially for a team which i despise so much such as Man City, but maybe it may be for the better in the long run.

He is a Genoa fan? The Parma hamsters will be dissapoting thinking all this time he was one of them :pp

And no, it WOULD NOT be for the better at all. Its ****ing Gigi, last frigging player we should sell (Cardinal sin to sell an unreal all time great like him). Our other champions wont be able to serve us much longer, while he has ALOT of years in him still, just 31 as a goalie is nothing. And even if he was older, I wouldnt sell anyone that provides immense quality like this:

Seriously, mezmerizing or what? Weird to think you are watching an all time great like this in the flesh.

I know man I do not want Gigi to leave serie a as well.

I am not afraid to admit that he is my favorite GK as I never really liked Dida (well the 2002/2003 year being the only exception :pp) and although I like Abbiati much better Buffon is still classes above him.
A true Serie a legend and hopefully he plays on for many more years
Hoping he recovers quickly.

Why is he a genoa fan btw?? He is not even born in Genoa and its not like Genoa was a big team in serie A when he was young so i dont understand why this genoa love

What a ridiculous notion it was wanting Ranieri to be sacked. For shame. And yet there were people turning their noses up at a thread concerning Wenger :) Wenger would play Giovinco every week for you though in place of that horrid Nedved
