One could argue that if the Agnelli's would write a check in order to sign Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi and Ibra, probably Ranieri would not oppose the move :smileani:Thats anyones guess, i never expected us to win or challenge for title after coming back to serie a. No manager would have managed to do that, with the squad we had. Now its different though, and questions rise mainly over the transfer policy. Now with the injury crisis it comes out even more clear.
Was it only Ranieris fault we couldnt get Vaart? Was it Seccos fault we couldnt get Alonso and went for Poulsen as alternative who hasnt really delivered.
I dont really know who to blame most when it comes to transfers. A manager like Mourinho would make sure he has a big say in transfers. Maybe thats why we opted for Ranieri in the first place. "You do your work and keep your mouth shut and everyone is happy".
Didn't Ranieri have such a luxury with Chelsea 2003/2004? And what did he achieve? One could argue that if the Agnelli's would write a check in order to sign Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi and Ibra, probably Ranieri would not oppose the move :smileani:

...as stated earlier, Juve already spend far more than Milan. With these signings you lot would level Real Madrid, Chelsea and Inter as far as spending goes.A puppet...which has the full backing of management, because they decided the [crappy] transfer campaign!
How many 'failed superstar' targets did Juve's management 'achieve':
Pepe (Real Madrid)
Ever Banega (Valencia)
Rafael Van der Vaart (Real Madrid)
Diego (Werder)
Xabi Alonso (Liverpool)
Gabriel Milito (the defender, Barca)
In all fairness not really. Living in Italy, allows me to hear lots of stuff. I've been hearing a number of Juve fans suggesting that Ranieri should have been fired after Napoli vs Juve. As a follow up, now that Juve are almost qualified in CL and are well performing in Serie A, after having qualified to the CL last season, my question is simple.Your intent with this thread is a poor attempt Diavolop Actually thought you wanted to address the topic just for it self, but nah

This is my reply too.In a word, yes.
We will never achieve anything with him at the helm, and we might as well give the reigns to someone who possibly could. He's mediocre at best.
Yes i do believe another coach would've.In all fairness not really. Living in Italy, allows me to hear lots of stuff. Would another coach done better?
You have almost qualified for the CL though, with your group being a tough one.Oh come on Diavolo, we havent performed well in serie a, yeah couple of wins in a row, but look where we stand in serie a.
The Special One's Inter is on par with Ranieri then.Yes i do believe another coach would've.
the only time we looked convincing since the start of the season was after we scored the second goal early on against Roma. .
Don't know about his days at Juve, but even Capello had to shut-up with regards to signings when he was our trainer. Fair to add that Mourinho insisted and won his battle for Quaresma, but generally speaking, despite appearances, it's the board that signs players, hardly ever coaches.Ranieri lost me when he admitted we were playing for a draw against Napoli. My fear is that we'll get someone really incompetent thanks to our not very bright current management.
Would another coach done better? In terms of results for now - hardly, but the way we play can really hurt you if you support this team. Another coach could have said- NO, we dont need a player like Poulsen, lets spend the mony on a new left back or a more creative midfielder for instance. And in a long term we cant win anything with a coach who is content with a draw away from home. Juventus should always challenge for the title, i think it goes without saying Diavolo?
Signed:In our case, Ranieri spefically said he did NOT want VDV and Xabi Alonso, two players that would have been easy to sign (VDV in particular would not been too costly), who wanted to come, wasnt really any obstacles except Ranieri NOT wanting them. He instead opted for meagre signings like Poulsen, Mellberg, Knezevic etc. He has leeway in improving our squad, and he has said often he has gotten players he asked for.
Nah, you missed his most retarded comment some month ago. He said he didnt want Xabi because he is too slow. That he wanted Poulsen because fullfills the needs he wanted to strenghten, while Xabi is "too slow". A reason that makes zero sense.Huh? Osman i thought Ranieri wanted Xabi Alonso, you mean Diego i guess?
