I dont want to sound anti-Inzaghino, cause I aint, but to take him in the national team at one good season, while the first half, everybody thought he was crap, thats just aint right.

Marseille, again, not anti Simone, but everybody could have scored that goals he scored I think.

Well, Inzaghino has shown what he's capable of this season. That earned him his first cap! So, that alone is already a good step for him. It's perhaps too early to expect him to be called up to such an important tournament so soon! Let him get more caps first, more experience...
And moreover, 1 such type of player is enough in a team. 2 is a waste! And if you ask Zoff to choose between the two, then it's obvious who it will be! Although in a few years' time Inzaghino may be preferred over his bro.
Now, we Laziale would be mad if Zoff didn't choose Nesta! ;)

Forza Lazio!

Yeah,I'm sure Inzaghino would dribble all 11 Norwegians, the bench players, the coach and the fans before getting his 8th goal.Did you see the match? with THAT midfield Italy demostated they wouldnt take a shot on goal even if they had 2 Vieris healthy as never.

Inzaghino is no better than his brother. No feeding,no goals! he has no technique,no skills and no heading at all.The only good thing with him is that he dives a bit less, doesnt whine all the time, celebrates his goals with his teamates and occasionally gives a correct pass.Under this terms he is a bit improved version of his brother.

Inzaghino is a great young talented player who had a good season. And he defintly earned his first Italy cap. I have no opinion about if Simone should be in the Italy Euro squad (maybe he should sit on the bench and sit and learn). But say that everyone could have scored that goals against Marseille is just b*l*s*i*! Maybe we should sign you "Michel"? :(

And I defintly think that Inzaghino is a better player than Amoroso.

I think Simone Inzaghi is quite a gifted player, even though he does not score as many goals as his brother. As for his national team debut, he definitely earned it! I'm sure Zoff would have wanted the best for the team.. and I'm sure he had no doubt about Simone's talents otherwise he wouldn't have put him in the team in the first place. So I say we should STOP criticizing Inzaghino and instead support him because it's always the fans' support that get players going. If you keep criticizing him, don't you think it will affect his performance knowing that there are people out there insulting the given skills that he has? Give him more chances to prove himself.. and give him a year or two to bloom and Pippo Inzaghi will be forgotten!!

Robban.. I agree with you.. Simone is DEFINITELY better than Amoroso.

Forza Lazio!
Forza Inzaghino!

Robban,
You must admit that Inzaghi's goals against Olympique weren't the greatest you've ever seen! By "everybody" Michel probably meant "every football player" and he's absolutely right about that!

Marissa,
A little criticism never hurts! And besides, do you actually believe S.Inzaghi will read this?? Come one, get real! No way this is gonna affect his performances!
It's always the fans' support that get players going? Sure, but what about the coach, team mates, THE MONEY, prizes, etc.?

Last, but not least: it's pretty pathetic to say "Inzaghino is a better player than Amoroso", just because AMOROSO! doesn't agree with you!

Yes Robban!!

Why not sign me!
I am alot cheaper then for instance Crespo, and I can play soccer pretty good if I may say so!!
And I would have scored those goals aswell, even that penalty, so...

Though I am an Inzaghino fan, I think you guys are all overreacting.
I agree with Amo, Vinone etc.
To say that Simone is prepared for a big tournament like EC 2000, isnt realistic.
He will get his chance, in 2002 in Korea, hopefully.

Lazia, are you for sure that Inzaghino doesnt read this!? ;)

This season he has scored 20 goals and he hasn't played much and has also done many assists. I think he deserved the national team because: 1) Zoff has called Pippo and everybody knows he is better than him; 2) There's also Delvecchio that is a Pippo's bigger version. About simple goals: yes is true, many of his goals are simple but he is ever ready so he scores more than more technical players as Salas or Del Piero.

Thanks for the good laugh guys.Inzaghino better than Amoroso? :D

Amoroso lost half a year with injury.Just wait to see him next year.

Please, can someone tell me WHAT skills does Inzaghino has? good positioning, good goal instict.

Well,I just described Simone AND Pippo Inzaghi,a player the 90% of you considers a disgrace to the sport (and I agree).

I'm not saying Simone is not good enough for the National Team (anyone is better than Delvecchio, even Michel! :)) but he would simply add nothing new and would spent the whole tournament on the bench.I simply deny to accept that he deserbves a place and Lucarelli,Muzzi and Fuser dont.

Bottom line: Inzaghi like Pippo,is a forward that can not create his chances. If you give him a pass two metres away from the line he will be there to convert it but so would a million other forwards.Simple as that.

"Lazia" I agree that the goals against OM wasen´t the nicest ones I have ever seen. BUT, it takes a good football brain to "see" the chanses and to be there in the right time at the right spot. All worldclass goalscorers make goals like Inzaghi against OM. They stand in the penalty area get a pass and put a toe on the ball and it rolls in to the net. They don´t run from their own half of the pitch and dribbels all eleven opsitions and scores. Have that in mind!

And I have very hard to belevie that "Michel" is a football player. He just warms the bench with his big mouth!

Yes robban, but true goalscorers dont play only against OM and when they have too they can make a header or a long range shot or dribble two or three opponents occasionally.

IF you think that putting goals this way makes you something more than an ok player you are wrong. Its a quality of course, but its not enough by itsown!

EVERY forward can score this kind of goals.Batistuta can,Crespo can,Shevchenko can,Vieri can,But all these forwards can also control the ball or socre a goal without an assists.Do you read me?

Robban, you'd better believe it!

And how much I am an Inzaghino fan, probably one of the earliest on this forum!!, and NO, not because of his looks!! :), I have to say, Amo is right again.

Quote: ''All worldclass goalscorers make goals like Inzaghi against OM. They stand in the penalty area get a pass and put a toe on the ball and it rolls in to the net. They don´t run from their own half of the pitch and dribbels all eleven opsitions and scores. Have that in mind!''

Uhm, ok, but what you are saying here,
I (according to you, a non-football player with a big mouth aswell) think you are trying to say that players who stand in the penalty area, get a pass and put a toe on the ball and it rolls into the net, are BETTER?? then a player who runs from his own half of the pitch and dribbels all eleven positions. Am I right?

If I am wrong, then call me a STUPID, bigmouthed benchsitter!

I agree about Lucarelli (overall after Vieri's injury) but Muzzi...He is very fast but he loses too many chances. Who has seen Amoroso playing last year simply can't say that Simone is better, he looked me as a "little" Ronaldo. Simone isn't technical, I think is a quite good header and like is brother, is ever in the best position to score, always ready for a mistake of the defenders or of the goalkeeper. I believe that he will improve every year and in 2002 will be Italy's striker.

I'm not anti-Simone.
I don't think he's so poor as some anti-Simone people say. But I don't believe he's so great that he will become one of the best strikers of Italy in the near future.
However, anyway, maybe he's good enough as the third striker or so at Lazio.
