In the local press, its reported that United have offered £10m and Andy Cole for Shevchenko and are willing to pay wages more than what he gets now. Although Milan are likely to say no, they haven't officially refused or denied the story.

I think Milan would want a least 25 Million and Andy Cole for Andriy Shevchenko, he was top scorer in Serie A in his debut season, which was better than Maradonas I have heard.

The day Milan would want to swap a old English striker for the best in Europe who is about 23 I think.

They paid 16 Million for him, why would they accept 10 Million for him. He has doubled or even tripled in value in today market. Or are you just saying Andy Cole is worth 22 Million.

Man Utd should buy Shinji Ono, and play him instead of Scholes, he is much better skill and would be a better propect fpr the future.

Morn.

That he scored more goals than Maradona in his debut season is not something that you should pay so much attention to. Maradona was not a typical attacker who scored a lot of goals allthough he became top scorer one season. Maradona was a playmaker as well and made a lot of assists as well. Most of his goals came from free-kicks and penalties.
You could compare Shevy with Ronaldo, Ronaldo scored 25 goals on his debut season.

what do you want....Man U fans only talk about transfer rumors....seriously guys...get real....if this was in the local papers then the guy/gal who wrote the article clearly had to much to drink. Again..Shevchenko-->Serie A-->HIGHEST LEVEL...he won't take a step down...he wants to progress with his career rather than move to England which would regress his career.

Amoroso, can you believe these crap rumours. Any Cole, what a joke, he is worth about 5 mill at the most. If Man U want Shevy, they need to give Milan Beckham, Scholes, Giggs and Keane. Yeah that seems fair. Actually put another 20 million in that. Now thats fair. Shevchenko would score over 100 goals in England for sure!!!!

El Matadro is right, even if Sheva EVER comes to the trasnfer market (and he wont) the other 5 big italian sides would open a war around him with bids that United cant even consider offering.

Man U pseudo-fans, because i know real Man U fans are not like that! They are respectable football fans! However, what we have in here is just novice people who just happened to have discovered football and faithfull to their legendary tradition, these glory hunters, have chosen to follow Man U since its the most publicised and mediatised team due to England's brain washing to countries where Football is not very developped!

Anyways, its not all a surprise that they dream of having all these all-star players in their team. But you people have to understand that the real football stars that play in Italy or Spain or South America will never go to England while being on their top form!!!Never!
They might consider England as a good option to finish their prosperous and glorious careers in the EPL. THat's it!

I can bet anything you want that even IF and that is a HUGE IF, a player of the caliber of Sheva(God forbids that moment
and Galliani and Braida and Berlusconi should be decapitated on the spot should they do such an horrific thing!:) if Man U offers 50M$ (which i strongly doubt them ever offering) and an italian or Spanish giant offers half of it, i can assure you that Sheva will not chose Man U!
Why?Because he wants to Progress as Marcoa perfectly put it and not regress!

So people, please stop all these wishful and lunatically utopic rumours such as Rivaldo or Davids, or Zidane or Raul or Roberto Carlos or Maldini or Baggio or Ronaldhino or Riquelme or Aimar or Saviola or whomever from Spain or Italy will be going to ANY EPL team! That is pure ILLUSION!

So please WAKE UP!

HAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAA!!!!!HOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!! Man, if you gave us Andy Cole, you'd have to give us $20 million to accept him! Andy + 10 mill quid for Sheva...that's the best joke I've heard all summer. It really cheers me up. Andriy Shevchenko is worth a billiob billion pounds and still HE IS NOT FOR SALE!!!!! Thanks for the joke anyway. B'bye.

Crazy, impossible rumour. Wake up, dear MU or England fans. No top players in the world at their prime will go to England and play in Premier League, never. So, don't dream you can see Figo, Zidane, Toldo, Shevchenko or Rivaldo in PL. They will only play in Italy or Spain where top soccer presence.

"No top players in the world in their prime will go to England"
--Barcus Babbel turned down a 7 million pound bid from Real Madrid, preffering to join Liverpool on a free
--Rebrov turned down a bunch of italian teams to join Tottenham.
--Lauren turned down Parma, who had been tracking him forever, for Arsenal
--hasselbaink turned down Lazio and others for Chelsea
--Van Nisterlroy, who will eventually join Man Utd, said how boring he thought the Italian league was, turing down AC Milan.

--These merely happened during the summer. By the way, one of the top three players in the world, according to to Fifa's player of the year award, has been present in the PL in the last three years. Shearer, Bergkamp, Beckham.

--Just because Arsenal, Man UTd, Liverpool, and Chelsea aren't dumb enough to spend 35 million on Crespo or forge Juan Veron's passports, doesn't make the PL bad.

Bulldog, you're funny!
With all respects due, who is Barcus Babbel???He perfectly knew that he would die at the Bernabeu so that's why he opted for the easiest solution:EPL!
Same for Lauren, Hasselbank. and Van Nistelroy.
As far as Rebrov, i don't know he must have been drunk refusing Milan and the possibility of forming again one of the most deadliest duo in world football: Sheva-Rebrov for Totthenham!!!This i still did not get it and will be very difficult to understand it!

As far as the FIFA world player of the year award is concerned, it is all BS!How do you explain Beckham being 2nd
before Sheva, Bati, Raul or Zidane, just to name a few...

So i still persist on saying that no world class player in his prime (and with a sound mind :))will chose the EPL over la Liga or Serie A!!!NEVER!

You simply must not be very smart. Hmm, Ivan campo or Marcus Babbel. Hasselbaink, Van Nistelroy, or Anelka. Wow, that's tough. Hasselbaink was leading goalscoarer in Spain, right? With a team that even was relegated, right? Actually I would take either one of them over Morientes. You make excuses because you are insecure with the fact that Spain has only three good teams, and that English clubs are among the best in the world. By the way, Beckham getting second place? Completely deserved. He won everything he could with his team that year, and you have probably only seen him play against real madrid. He had the assist on every one of England's goals in Euro 2000. YOu just hate Beckham because he is better than everyone of Madrid's midfielders. As a matter of fact, so are Giggs and Keane. And I'm not even a Manchester fan.

No offence, but I can't wait to see where Madrid are in ten years. But with extremely shrewd purchases such as 23 million for Anelka and having a zillion dollar debt, maybe they will be in good shape.

Oh yeah, Pires picked Arsenal over Real Madrid. And don't say some bull**** about him going to die at Bernabeu, blah blah blah. That is just a lame excuse

Babbel - Liverpool moved first to him, long time die hard red fan.

Rebrov - Obviusly Milan never made a bid for him or else he would wear rossonero now instead of the shirt of Tottenham.

Lauren - He never tunred down Parma,Parma pulled away from the deal (which was done)

Hasselbaink - I seriusly doubt Lazio or any other big Italian side made any serius offer to Jimmy Floyd. He would be eaten alive in Seria A.

Besides,do you call this great players? I can name at least 5 Seria A players much much better from them.Dont test me on that...

As for Bergkamp,Beckham and (especially) Shearer among the top 5 players in the world,I have one thing to say:

HA HA HA!!!

Have you ever thought how good Crespo is? he would easily bag 25 goals in PL.These players are just too good and too expensive for the Premier League.

I also want you to name a Seria A player who left at his prime and had a guarandeed place in a big Seria A side for England.

In PL they go either old stars who were not gurandeed starters at their teams like (Vialli,Zola) Seria A has been (Dessailly,Di Matteo),Seria A rejects (Carbone,Di Canio) and players who failed for some reasons to make an impact at Seria A and now are stars in England (Bergkamp,Kanu,Henry).

If you want look at the purchases from traditional european sell-out clubs like Ajax.Seria A and La Liga sides got De Boers,Litmanen,Bogarde,Kluivert,Kanu,Finidi George,Oliseh,Reziger and English clubs got Melchiot and Reuser...

I'm not saying PL is bad but they are just not at the same level as Seria A or La Liga.

I can see the (2nd or 3rd choice) world player of the year Alan Shearer score 28 goals in italy when he replaces sheva in Milans attacking force, playing beside andy Cole. :):):):)
