Looks like Nainggolan is very bottom of the pecking order.
Rubbish last 20mins, absolutely nothing doing. Should've capitalised on the truckload of earlier opportunities. Very hard to qualify now.
A loss away to Madrid next Tuesday (highly likely) and we're out, fairly simple.

Hopefully we finish 4th rather than 3rd to save us the EL bullsh*t.

LOL, Borussia Mönchengladbach has scored 3 goals with 3 shots on goal (or 4 shots in total) so far in the CL. Talk about efficiency.

Thanks Nax

Quality is good but it keeps trying to drop cookies on to my work computer so I will just switch to SKY Germany's Konferenz. I have a sort of lower grade SKY subscription that shows EPL but no proper live CL. I get 50% of the CL games from DAZN (they had Inter this eve and last week).

Didn't post during the game as there was maintenance on XT right before kickoff, didn't try to check til now.

then watched Gladbach v Madrid after our match in Kiev.

Inter's luck in the CL this season so far has been terrible. Lautaro hit the post against Gladbach (score was 1-1) and Gladbach scored a goal from an offside position. And tonight against Shakhtar, 2 balls in the bar (great strikes Barella and Lukaku) and a penalty denied after Lukaku was grabbed. Where is VAR? Why isn't it being used properly?

Anyhow Inter were the better team in Ukraine, solid at the back, a clean sheet with barely any Shakhtar chances (mind you this Shakhtar scored 3 in Madrid), and we had enough chances to score 4 or 5. Not our evening but chances still there for qualification. Tight, close group.

Unlucky that Sanchez is injured, he could have been useful off the bench. Lautaro, huge chance wasted.. I now remember his miss against PSV in 2018 agh.. costly

Lautaro started the season well, then came the international break and he forgot about scoring for us. No goals against Milan, Gladbach, Genoa and Shakhtar.. hopefully he recovers his scoring form soon.

I know red tends to whine and complain a lot but we deserved to win

The fact that Samir has basically had nearly nothing to do in 2 matches is very good. Good to get 2 clean sheets running.

Imo we should swap Pinamonti for Gervinho in January, and bring in either Nzola from Spezia (a tank) or Llorente from Napoli in Jan.

Gladbach will be kicking themselves.
Absolutely. Gladbach could have had 6 points from 2 matches if they could defend properly in the air. Late goals killed them.

Plea and Thuram really troubled Real though. Loved the pass Plea made to Thuram on the first goal, good finish as well by Young Thuram.

Gladbach will regret not getting a 3rd goal at 2-0, they had 2 clear chances for Plea and Stindl. Like Nacka said, they scored 3 from their first 3 shots, but that can't keep on going forever...

Young attempting to take on that role. After being our probably worst player tonight.
Thankfully De Vrij saved our ass in that play.

Young looked like he left the pitch injured, let's see who plays Lwb on Saturday. Could be anyone between Kolarov/Perisic/Darmian

12-3 and 11-2 in shots in our two CL games and still only two points. Tough luck I guess.
We created more indeed in both. But in football the better team doesn't always win.

Absolute sh*te

Standard Conte CL crap

Abysmal finishing from Lautaro and Barella to blame.

Play youth team in Europa League and focus on Serie A
What chance did Barella miss?

We had 2 points from 6 at this stage in 2009... the rest is history. ;)

Not saying we will win CL this season (we won't), but we still have a decent chance of making the knockouts.

We are 2 points behind the top of the group with 12 points left to play for.

Real Madrid have a terrible defence, 5 conceded in 2 CL matches against worse players than Lukaku and Lautaro. And they could have conceded more against Shakhtar and Gladbach.

Imo though in order to get at least a point in Madrid, Conte needs to rest De Vrij, Brozovic, Vidal and Lukaku against Parma.

Nainggolan was out with Covid til recently though but Conte brought him on against Genoa. Imo Nainggolan should start with Barella and Eriksen in midfield against Parma, rest Brozovic and Vidal. Serie A season still very long so Real should be prioritized over Parma.

I enjoyed the EL run to the final last season, so if we finish 3rd then hopefully we can go far in it. Sevilla look like they will make last 16 in CL so no EL for the specialists this season thankfully

UEFA, you spend money on VAR, at least use it!

Btw Real Madrid were denied a penalty at 0-0 after a handball by a Gladbach player. Arm was stretched, but VAR was sleeping there too.

Nainggolan has to play on Saturday. Gagliardini should get some minutes too.

Vidal was awful yesterday and badly needs to rest.
