seriously, Ancelotti?? he got Milan to 5 place last year, and Kaka?? was he that good last year?? cmoon.. but one Milan player that maybe should be there is Pato, he did better than Giovinco i think, and he only was availible the other half of the season..

Exactly my thoughts.. Pato had a better season than Giovinco and even Balotelli..

But Ancelotti led us to 5th, he shouldn't be there at all.. Kaka scored 15 goals so that explains it..

And I thought Pirlo had his worst season in ages..

Nesta and Ancelotti are weird inclusions indeed. Should throw in Gamberini instead of Nesta, and Mancini instead of Ancelotti.

The winners oughta be:

Best Coach: Luciano Spalletti
Best Referee: Roberto Rosetti
Best Goalkeeper: Gigi Buffon
Best Youngster: Marek Hamsik
Best Defender: Giorgio Chiellini
Best Italian Footballer: Alessandro Del Piero
Best Foreign Footballer: Zlatan Ibrahimovic

All of them should be clear winners, except perhaps understandable if Prandelli wins, or JC has good chance enough to win, even if Gigi is Gigi. But the rest? Must win.

You are correct. My thinking when I was confirming Chiellini is that Maicon is probably a wingback or fullback, so I'll put him later. Forgot about that though, and ends up that there was no category like that. So he deserves it over Chiellini.

The number of Milan-associated nominees is astounding.

Calcio Oscars 2008 nominees:
Best Coach: Prandelli will win it. Spaletti has won it in the last two occasions, so it's time for a change.
Best Referee: Roberto Rosetti will win this again.
Best Goalkeeper: Julio Cesar should win it. He had a better season than Gigi.
Best Youngster: Marek Hamsik should get this one, IMO.
Best Defender: Giorgio Chiellini
Best Italian Footballer: Alessandro Del Piero
Best Foreign Footballer: Zlatan Ibrahimovic

You honestly believe Buffon had a better 2008 then JC?? I mean we all know Buffon is Buffon and then the rest. But this is over a year, similar arguments to CRon and Messi.
