Serie A Week 35 - 10/5/09 (14.00 UK)
Torino - Bologna

Stadio Olimpico

Serie A survival is at stake at the Olimpico as this tie will most likely determine which side between Torino and Bologna will be playing Serie B football next season. In this relegation six-pointer there will no room for errors.

The Granata are one point ahead of the Rossoblu in the table, but Lecce and Reggina are also trying to squeeze through for that last spot which will ensure safety.

Torino have been inconsistent of late. However, boss Giancarlo Camolese was able to praise his men for their performance at least in the 1-0 defeat to Fiorentina in Tuscany last weekend.

“Our goal should have stood and it would have been important for us to win a point in Florence,” noted Camola. “Against Bologna we must stay focused, but I believe we have everything required to do well. We are in a better position than they are and will fight to defend it. We need to play with our brain and our heart.”

Bologna were defeated by Reggina last weekend and lost a great chance to get rid of the Amaranto danger for this season. Instead they have one more rival to fight against and there are serious doubts whether the Emiliani are good enough for this challenge.

“I am not looking for excuses. Our road to safety is not easy but we can be hopeful ahead of the next four games,” confessed Giuseppe Papadopulo. “My men honoured their shirts and will react in order to prove that this team does not deserve to go down.”

Camolese should stick with the 3-4-1-2 formation which has proved to be a good solution for Toro in recent weeks. The Granata will miss their No 1 Matteo Sereni, sent off at the Franchi, and Angelo Ogbonna. Roberto Stellone should recover in time and Aimo Diana may also be a part of the game.

Papadopulo will opt for a 4-5-1 hoping to hit the locals on the break. Nicola Mingazzini and Massimo Mutarelli are out suspended. Gabi Mudingayi has been suffering from flu and may miss out. Coelho should instead start – he was superb against Reggina according to the Coach.

Keep an eye on: Alessandro Rosina (Torino) – Loudly contested by his own fans, Alessandro Rosina will have to prove he still deserves to wear the captain’s armband. And there is no better place to do that than this weekend…
