It's embarrassing. Our people put our football down more than any clueless foreigner does. Obviously there is a lot to complain about when it comes to our football but there is no need to shit on it 24/7.
Polako ljudi. Previse brzo sudite. Tek je trecina prvenstva proslo.
In regards to both clubs in Europe... it's going to be difficult for both to qualify but it is still quite possible as the groups are very, very close.
1. Arsenal 9
2. BATE 4
3. Crvena Zvezda 4
4. FC Cologne 0
Zvezda's remaining games: Arsenal (A), BATE (A), FC Cologne (H)
1. Dinamo Kiev 7
2. Young Boys 3
3. Partizan 2
4. Skenderbeg 2
Partizan's remaining games: Skenderbeg (H), Young Boys (H), Dinamo Kiev (A)
Zvezda has to hope FC Cologne beats BATE at home and we have to hope that we can get a point at the Emirates. It's highly unlikely but if FC Cologne can at least win their next game we're looking at Arsenal 12, BATE 4, Zvezda 4 and FC Cologne 3. Then we're looking at this - if Zvezda win their two remaining games they're in the round of 32. The crucial game is FC Cologne - BATE. It has to end in either a win or draw. BATE cannot win. If they do end up winning in Cologne, it will be very difficult for us going to BATE with them knowing a win there gets them into the final 32.
Partizan's road meanwhile looks much easier on paper. They should beat the Albos at home if they want any part of the Round of 32. That's the type of game they should be winning. Then Young Boys comes to Belgrade and given they were a little unlucky to draw in Switzerland, with the right concentration, they should be able to win. If they win their next two games they're pretty much in the round of 32, unless Young Boys can surprise Kiev in the next game, which I doubt will happen. It really cannot be any easier... two games at home against average/solid opposition.
The only thing that should be mentioned is that Young Boys have been in great form since the Partizan match and find themselves first in the Swiss League, 5 points ahead of Basel.
In the end it turns out 2 points from the last 2 games will more than likely be enough.
The thread that usually ends in August is still going strong and will at least make it to March this time around. So far we've gathered 5.375 points this season, which is our highest total since I can remember and there are still points to be gained. This total actually makes us the 11th most successful league in Europe this season and in comparison a top nation like Germany, with 6 active teams has a total of 6.142. roud:
2 years ago Partizan had a great run and gathered quite a few points (4.250 in total for Serbia), so if we can have another 2 good seasons, we'll see an tremendous rise in the UEFA rankings.
