Wow, you really waited for me to start this thread! I was just kidding, you know! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

OK, now that I've done it, there is nothing more left to say!You know the situation, you all know what I'm hoping for, and I know that there are some of you who don't agree with me, but don't worry, you'll grow up, learn a few things...:D :D  ;) Joking again, I respect your views and I fully understand them. This wasn't an easy decision for us One-Sunday-Nerreazzuri either, but sometimes such decisions have to be taken to do what is necessary. Life isn't fair, get used to it(copyright Bill Gates).

In any case, in becco all'aquilla a tutti(*) and let's hope next season will be better.(it can hardly get any worse)

(*) The normal Italian expression for good luck is "In bocca al lupo"(in the mouth of a wolf) to which the reply is "Crepi il lupo"(may the wolf die). But knowing what the wolf represents :D us Laziali say "In becco all'aquila"(in the beak of an eagle).:) ;)

You've been very "succsesfull" beating us at Olimpico, or even at San Siro last 4 or five years;)
But this time, some of Lazio fans feel that you need a bit of "help" and from what i heard you will get it, at least from the fans on the game.

OK Milos, i'll take it as a "test" if you are a "bad" luck or not;) although in this case it will be hard to decide no matter what the final result is:D

Chaos reigns at Lazio Friday 3 May, 2002

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lazio go into the most important game of the season with injuries, protests and a training ground fight.

Inter will be heartened to see that their opponents in Sunday’s final match of the season are in such poor condition. A victory in Rome will assure the Nerazzurri of the Scudetto.

Club doctors today confirmed that Hernan Crespo and Claudio Lopez will not be taking part in the showdown.

Crespo is suffering from recurring back pain, while fellow Argentine Lopez has an inflamed tendon in his right knee.

“The two players are suffering from chronic injuries,” assured Dr. Andrea Campi, “so they absolutely cannot play this weekend.”

Giuliano Giannichedda and Stefano Fiore are also in doubt, while Fabio Liverani is suspended.

Gaizka Mendieta suffered a bruised knee during training, although many claim the injury was sustained during a fight with teammate Francesco Colonnese.

Coach Alberto Zaccheroni is also less than enthusiastic about this final match of the campaign. After all, it is to be his last on the Olimpico bench.

The club has all but confirmed that Roberto Mancini will be the tactician to restructure the team next season.

Serie A Decider Preview: Lazio-Inter
Lazio - Inter | News Archive

Inter need Ronaldo's signature on the Scudetto form... (Allsport)
05/03/2002. Question : can Lazio's UEFA Cup berth ambitions overwhelm Inter's Scudetto hunger ? Millions of anxious Calcio fans have been wondering all week whether Lazio will really be up to the test as their commitment for such a meagre goal could be in doubt.

Let's face the facts : no Lazio fan would like to see arch-rivals Roma get their hands on the title. And Juventus are no friends either, so why not let Inter have the title ? It would be the most acceptable solution as the Nerazzurri are in fairly good terms with the Biancocelesti.

Pundits have questioned Lazio's motivation because they suspect they will be easily defeated on Sunday. The players have hit back at those allegations and underlined they will play the game in a professional way.

But it does not only depend on Lazio : Inter must put in a better performance than last week against. Their mission in Rome is not as easy as it may seem : Inter have not beaten Lazio in Serie A for ages, since March 1996 thanks to a Benny Carbone goal ! Paul Ince was still playing for Inter back then…

Against a ferocious Piacenza side still looking to escape relegation to Serie B, Inter had many troubles creating decent goal chances. It will take more than well-taken freekicks to break down Alessandro Nesta & Jaap Stam's backline.

This title decider would not be the same without traditional transfer rumours aimed at unbalancing opponents. Juventus are the propaganda specialists, but Inter have learned their lesson well : Nesta has been linked with a move to Massimo Moratti's club, and this has infuriated Juve & Roma, who have openly criticized this piece of news.

TEAM NEWS

Lazio coach Alberto Zaccheroni is set to lead his team for the last time in the Olimpico. For this occasion, he will face big team selection problems as some key players are missing. Reports from Italy pointed out yesterday that Lazio's Argentine strikers Claudio Lopez and Hernan Crespo will probably be out because of injury. Furthermore, Lucas Castroman, Sinisa Mihajlovic and Giuliano Giannichedda are also sidelined, whereas Fabio Liverani is suspended. Misfit Gaz Mendieta's conditions are improving but chances are he will be sitting on the bench again for what could be his last game in biancoceleste.

PL (4-4-1-1) : Peruzzi, Stam, Nesta, Couto, Favalli, Poborsky, Giannichedda, Simeone, Stankovic, Fiore, S.Inzaghi
On the bench : Marchegiani, *****, Pancaro, Mendieta, D.Baggio, Evacuo, Gottardi

Inter have been boosted by the news that Christian Vieri will recover on time from his ankle injury. « Bobogol » should start alongside Ronaldo. Hector Cuper will be delighted to have a decent central defensive pair again thanks to the return of Italy sub Marco Materazzi. Vratislav Gresko should get the nod on the left hand side as Michele Serena is not 100% fit. Di Biagio and C.Zanetti will give muscles to Inter's midfield, while Alvaro Recoba will provide the brains.

PL (4-4-2) : Toldo, J.Zanetti, Cordoba, Materazzi, Gresko, Conceicao, Di Biagio, C.Zanetti, Recoba, Vieri, Ronaldo
On the bench : Fontana, Sorondo, Seedorf, Serena, Guly, Kallon, Ventola

LOOK OUT FOR…

Lazio : The only player capable to emerge from the gloom this season was Dejan Stankovic. It took him some time to perform with consistency, but now that conmpetition is not as fierce as it used to be in midfield, with a number of players out of sorts (Mendieta, Fiore, etc).

Inter : It must be Ronaldo's day on Sunday. If Inter are to win the Scudetto, the Brazilian ace must give it his personal, final touch. He had a somewhat indifferent game against Piacenza last week (mainly because of Cardone & pals inspired performance), so this time he must strike and strike hard !

FORM GUIDES

Lazio – last six, all comps : WDWWWL

The Romans lost their CL chances after last week's defeat at the hands of Bologna. Three wins in a row v Lecce, Fiorentina and Verona before that were not enough to secure a last gasp European berth and now the UEFA Cup is the only achievable goal, although it looks like they will have to settle for the boring Intertoto.

Inter – last six, all comps : LLDWDW

In early April Inter conceded a terrible 1-2 defeat against Atalanta which re-opened the Scudetto race. They also should have won against Chievo but were forced to a last-minute 2-2 draw. Hard-won successes against strugglers Brescia and Piacenza kept them on top, but it should have been a lot easier for Inter to win this Serie A title.

:howler: :howler: Whiihoo, I have to laugh..

Anyway, it´s a bad excuse.. You know you would lose anyway, even with your best 11.. Lazio could have a say on whose gonna win this scuetto.. However if so they´ll have to take at least one point.. A loss is so predictable, the only way to save Lazio´s season is to win this one..

i had to edit your post. Xt support friendly rivalry & does not accept flaming.

It is so weird to see someone who has Inter as his favorite team listed in his profile to actually be giving Inter the finger like that :howler:

Agree.. No reason to be hostile.. I just expressed my oppinion and you seemed arrogant towards it.. I must confess, I feel frustrated and sad when I read the Lazio supporters view on this match.. Personally I would never go into a game hoping for a loss.. I find that unsportsmanlike and frankly, quite pathetic..
