Necati's goal was definitely great, but I was really impressed with his overall performance. He linked up so well with Hakan, giving a nice assist for the second goal and creating some other chances from his flick-ons. He also could've scored some more goals as he broke free of Gencler's defense a couple times, but he was thwarted by good keeping from Omer the first time and he slipped the second time.

Overall, it was a pretty good team performance. Nothing special, as usual, but solid enough. It all started with our defense which was very firm ( with the exception of Cihan) and which was only troubled occasionally by the pace and trickery of Youla, who won Gencler's penalty, of course. Our midfield, on the other hand, was pretty mediocre as you might expect with Volkan in the center and Ayhan on the left. Sabri made a very nice cross for our first goal but wasn't very effective otherwise. When he did get into good positions, he looked to shoot rather than pass. Conceicao did a decent job disrupting Gencler attacks and helping to set up play for us, but I still expect more from him.

So a decent performance and a good result against a tricky Gencler side ahead of our six-pointer next week. :shades:
