Milan strike Perea deal
By Francisco Acedo - Created on 13 Mar 2006

Spanish sources claim that Milan have struck a deal with Atletico Madrid for highly-rated Colombian Luis Amaranto Perea.

The 26-year-old has been linked Manchester United, Valencia and Internazionale in recent months - but Milan look to have won the race for his signature.

Caden Ser Radio has announced that a €7 million deal has been agreed between the two clubs.

Atletico are yet to confirm the deal, but it is also being suggested that Perea has also shaken hands on a four-year contract at The Giuseppe Meazza.

Atletico are already planning for the new season with Portuguese youngster Ze Castro on his way from Belenenses.

PS: Gil Marin already denied this rumor and Perea said he wants to stay!
btw. His brother Obed is now playing for us, I don't think he will leave his brother alone in madrid!

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid have dismissed reports that they’ve agreed to sell Luis Amaranto Perea to the Rossoneri.

“At this moment in time there are no negotiations going on,” read a statement from the Spanish club. “There are no talks with regard to any players or Coaches.”

A £4m fee had allegedly been agreed between the two clubs for the 26-year-old Colombian defender.

Torres in Newcastle claim

Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres has claimed that Newcastle have made an offer for him.

The Spain international, who has scored 11 goals in 26 La Liga games this season, had been linked to a number of top clubs in the January transfer widow amid widespread speculation about his future.

Premiership sides Chelsea and Tottenham have both reportedly been interested in the past, but Torres has now revealed that he is only aware of one firm bid for him.

The 21-year-old, tipped to leave Spain in the summer, says that he knows about the approach because Atletico chiefs recently informed him.

Again this story is rubbish, it has been twisted from an interview Fernando gave when he sayed he WAS STAYING with Atletico

Torres won't be rushed

Fernando Torres will not rush a move to The Premiership, according to his agent.

Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle are all expected to battle it out for the Atletico Madrid striker's signature this summer, although he looks set to bide his time.

His agent has hinted that the promise of UEFA Champions League football may be the only lure potent enough to tempt him away from the Vicente Calderon, although Torres, who turned 22 on Monday, is not about to be rushed into making a decision.

"Fernando has no intention of speaking with any club at the moment," Antonio Martin told The Times.

"In the summer it depends on how he performs at the World Cup and if Atletico are in the Champions League.

"[Atletico] is the best team in Spain in the second half of the season, better than Barcelona and much better than Real Madrid, which is very important.

"The club will sell its stadium [to the city] and when it does, it will become one of the richest in the world."

Spurs saw a £20 million bid rejected during January, while Torres himself revealed that Newcastle are also keen to land his services during the summer.

tribalfootball.com - March 23, 2006

Inter Milan are ready to put midfielder David Pizarro up for sale.
With Juan Veron indicating he will play on at Inter next season, Chile international Pizarro is expected to seek a move away.

Fiorentina are favourites to land Pizarro, however he has also received interest from the Premiership and Primera Liga in the last 12 months where Tottenham and Atletico Madrid are known admirers.
