Reading have agreed a £250,000 fee for Cambridge striker Dave Kitson.
The club said they had "reluctantly accepted" the offer because of their financial problems but U's boss John Taylor will not get any of the money.

Kitson will now discuss personal terms with the Royals, who earlier signed Lloyd Owusu from Sheffield Wednesday on a month's loan.

The 23-year-old is the club's leading scorer but has missed the last five games through injury.

Kitson joined Cambridge from non-league Arlesey Town in March 2001. His present contract expires in December 2004.

Kitson scored 25 goals in all competitions last year and was named in the Professional Footballers' Association Division Three team of the season.

Nothing as been agreed by Cambridge, and I am sure they will want more than that!
