Team Report

Valencia were fortunate to escape with a scoreless draw against Real Madrid. Ronaldo failed to convert a last minute penalty kick that would have allowed Real Madrid to close the gap on league leaders Barcelona to just seven points. Valencia have moved into second place in the Liga Primera table based on their head to head advantage over Real Madrid. Valencia have drawn their last three games and have increased their unbeaten run in La Liga to 16 games. Striker David Villa received a contract extension this week that will keep him in Valencia through 2013. Valencia have allowed just four goals in their last 12 matches and goalkeeper Santiago Canizares is catching form just prior to the World Cup. In addition to the strong defensive record, Canizares has also stopped all three penalty kicks he has faced this season. Racing host Valencia this weekend at the Sardinero stadium. The two clubs played to a 1-1 draw at the Mestalla stadium earlier this season.

Form:
Sat, Mar 11 Real Madrid D 0-0
Sun, Mar 5 at Málaga D 0-0
Sun, Feb 26 Getafe D 1-1

Nothing but a win would be acceptable after three back to back draws.Racing's form hasn't been good with 1 win in the last 8 matches.

Rest Aimar? why? It's so damn stupid, Valencia is ONLY playing La Liga... sometimes I don't get the coaches.

yeah especially when Aimar have been in quite good form lately. But he'll probably enter the game in the 60th minute or so. The probable lineup will be this:

Valencia: L. Butelle, Albiol, Marchena, Curro Torres, Moretti, Albelda, Baraja, Rufete, Regueiro,Villa, Mista

WTF is this?? Why are we playing English football? The only thing we are doing is playing with four defensive midfielders while Baraja and Refute play long balls :frustrat:

I hope he kicks Refute and Baraja out and Aimar and Miguel in.

Curro---Albiol---Marchena---Moretti
------------Albelda----------------
Miguel-------Aimar---------Reguiero
---------Villa------Mista-----------

Tough luck of that happening though..

Aimar is in but Reguiero out
It doesn't make sense, really. The radio just said that Aimar is playing "a la Ronaldinho" in the wing. If Aimar is the solution to overcome the result, why wasn't he the solution to win the game since the minute 1? Besides, as far as I know, Regueiro was the best in the first half. I don't get why some coaches keep the double DM as if it were a religious commandment. Take one off, open the field with the wings, keep the 2 strikers and put people in front of Aimar so he can feed balls.

Barça is doing great, but sometimes it's like Valencia and Real Madrid want to give the title to us as fast as possible.

We play better with Aimar. He should start every game even with one leg. Why take Regueiro out, that's silly. He was the best player in the first half. Is Cani injured?
