After a wonderful season Monaco sold him for €10m to PSG, a club that was apparently building a competitive side for the next season. Since then the team has crumbled completely, the coach has been replaced and they are sitting mid table. But while all of this was going on, Rothen spent most of the time on the sidelines injured. Is it possible that Monaco saw this coming, knew he was fragile and would need treatment and sold him while they could cash in? Why else would they sell him? Did he want out that bad? And shouldn't he have known better than to sign for PSG?
