Albertini's Italian hopes ««
Demetrio Albertini can easily be counted among the veterans of Italian soccer, and he is only 26.
He has an array of caps to his name already and is a linchpin in the midfield for the national side, just as he is for Milan.
Both he and Paulo Maldini are two of the most influential players in the team and two of the wittiest as well.
Albertini isn't pleased though about the way the Romanians are treating the run-up to the quarter final, he says: "Have you seen the Romanians? They are incredibly sly, the game hasn't started yet and all they can do is whine that they have three players out, that the referee will be on our side and so on, according to them the game is already over."
But Albertini warns: "But we don't but it and it is just an act. We know way too well that we are the ones who have everything to lose while for them it is already a great achievement.
"We will certainly have to be careful no matter how many players they have missing, after all they didn't have Hagi and beat England just the same."
