Această națională va intra într-un program intens de meciuri amicale care vor debuta în septembrie 2021, program care se va întinde până în iunie 2023, urmând ca apoi, din septembrie 2023, să intre în campania de calificare pentru următorul Campionat European din 2025.

Această decizie are la bază o realitate cu care ne confruntăm astăzi, și anume avem un număr foarte mare de jucători de perspectivă pe care îi regăsim la nivelul Ligii 1.”


If I understand correctly, the goal is to form a team for the U21 European Championship of 2025 (qualifiers will start on September 2023).
So while the next U21 generation will play the next qualifiers (starting in September 2021), there will be a U20 team playing friendlies in order to get ready in September 2023.

Well that is fantastic then! Our boys will have plenty of chances to prove themselves
The only problem I see is that the next generation won't have official games, which are important for the kids to get experience.

It's a great chance indeed.
Burleanu moved well there; it looked like UEFA would give the tournament entirely to Georgia, but in the last moments Romania appeared. Probably UEFA weren't convinced about Georgia getting the whole tournament.

That edition will be the qualifying for 2024 Olympic Games too.

FRF site made a good analysis. The first pot is deadly, from the second, Denmark and Italy are the best options, from the last one avoiding Switzerland is the best scenario

Yeah, I'd say getting Denmark in Pot 2 and avoiding the Swiss in Pot 4 would be the ideal. The rest is more or less the same.

It's Netherlands not Wales. From what I saw Italy's squad is much less impressive than The dutch and Portugal's one
