Here is a list and a glimpse into the future of Romanian football.

1) Adrian Mutu (Inter) - Forward, 21 yrs old, can play behind strikers as well.
2) Marius Nicolae (Dinamo Bucuresti) - Forward, 18 yrs old.
3) Catalin Munteanu (Salamanca) - Central Midfield, 20 yrs old.
4) Alin Stoica (Anderlecht; Midfielder, 20 yrs old.
5) Cristian Chivu (Ajax) - Left Back, 19 yrs old, can play central defender, sweeper, or even defensive midfielder.
6) Bogdan Lobont (Ajax) - Goalkeeper, 22 yrs old.
7) Erik Lincar (Steaua Bucuresti) - Defensive Midfielder/Midfielder, 21 yrs old.
8) Florentin Dumitru (Steaua Bucuresti) - Defender - 22 yrs old.
9) Bogdan Mara (Dinamo Bucuresti) - Forward, 22 yrs old.
10) Florin Cernat (Dinamo Bucuresti) - Midfielder, 20 yrs old.

Any questions about the specifics of these players I'd be happy to answer, but right now I'm too lazy to type some info about these players. ;)

Huh, I want to know more about # 3) and 1,5,6,9,2. And if you still have some place you may describe 10, 4, 8, 7. ;) (kidding)
But you may use your previous post in East ... forum (the youngster topic, these guys are described in there).
Anyway what's the latest news on Stoica, I heard he might not be joining Valencia in the next season. And let's hope Munteanu will join a better team in the next season (like Levski :) :) ).

Hehehe giani :)

The latest with Stoica is that he extended his contract with Anderlecht until 2002. So probably won't leave until then. He thinks he needs more time to develop and I think next season Anderlecht is going to play him way more.

As for Munteanu I really hope he finds a decent club that doesn't have to battle to get into the Primiera Liga. And we're not talking Levski ;)

eclipse, i dont know about prodigies, but you should hope for them to be stable...you can only refer the argentines as prodigies because they are THAT DAMN GOOD! aimar, romagnoli, requelme, saviola, D'alasandro, duscher, montenegro, etc. etc. etc. ;)

YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. these are the real future superstars. the chance of an argentine being a superstar is 1 out of every 2 :)

for romania its 1 out of every decade. ;)

hahaha HAI ROMANIA!

You can add those to the list too:

1. Marius Sava - 19 yrs old - U. Craiova
2. Vlad Munteanu - 19 yrs old. - Dinamo bought him today from FCM Bacau
3. Kirita - 22 yrs old - Dinamo

Did you guys know that the Lazio Reserves keeper is Romanian, his name is Daniel Sparlea, he's the brother of Irina Sparlea, and also played in Milan juniors?

HAI ROMANIA!!!

Hmmm, no I did not know that this Sparlea guy plays for the Lazio reserves. Is he a up and coming prospect or has he been there for a while now?

Also, I think it's good for Vladut Munteanu to go to a bigger club in Romania, he will shine. What do you think?

Huh, you guys make a serial production of players with the family name of Munteanu. :) I hope he comes out at least as good as the other two I know of. Who do you think guys will be leading the fight for the title in the next year?

what are you guys talking about? a romanian goalkeeper in lazio? if he is, he is probably 5th string goalkeeper because i know the top 3, so that must be a really pathetic goalkeeper.

now lazio has peruzzi, marchgiani, carini(future goalkeeper from uruguay).....even if he is in the system, which i really doubt, he is probably in a local club called lazio...there has been nothing said about him, so dont hope for anything special from this keeper.

giani: Dinamo will take the title almost surely. They got 2 new young players which are very good. They still have most of their team, and I don't see a reason why they won't win it.

argentina: The Romanian keeper is on the reserve TEAM, which is different than the main team.

Catalin Munteanu

He will probably join Atlético in the 2001-2002 season and stays on loan with Salamanca next season.

Is he really that good ? I didn't knew him (only from CM :))

But i hate it that we are giving 3 of our promising talents instead. I hope he is worth it but i still don't think it was the good move from my team :(

Well he is projected to be the replacement for Hagi. This guy has all the technical skills, but may lack psychological motivation. He has a chance to become a very good player, maybe even a great one.

Thanks EclipsE, but so is Stoica said to be the new Hagi. They are calling all the young talented players the new Hagi i think :)
I must admit that they all have a lot of technical skills but in this time of football that isn't enough ! There are a lot of talented players who don't make it ..

I'm glad we signed a young talented player now but also mad because we gave 3 other talents away and when he is going to play for us he probably doesn't get a chance to prove himself. 9 chances out of 10 were just going to use him to get money in a couple of years when we sell him or he os going to be used in a swap-deal

Belive me this Munteanu is just one out of 2 next Hagi's, the other is Stoica as you said. I am not including Mutu to this list because I think he is going to stick to being a forward. Anyway, can you tell me what 3 players you gave for him and was there money involved?

What are the chances of him being a starter next year anyway?

Well EclipsE, we just gave 3 players according to the newspapers so there was no money involved. Defenders Juanma and Christian Dias and winger/forward Pepe Domingo from the Atlético B-team but they were supposed to play in the first team next year after their impressive performances.

Atlético and Salamanca already agreed the deal and Munteanu signed. Now it's just waiting untill the 3 other players sign for Salamanca.

Juan Manuel Delgado Moreno "Juanma " has demonstrated his abilities in the last days of the championship together with David Charcos. Juanma has become 'general' of the defense and is the leader of the team.

The quality that Pepe Domingo has is that he is very fast left winger that never gives a ball by lost and in addition can score goals. Pepe Domingo can also act as second forward.

Christian Diaz i don't know that good.

Munteanu will stay on loan for one more season with Salamanca. I don't think he would be starter already. Maybe if he proves himself next year ... I will watch him closely :)

Kevin:

Well I just found out that that Munteanu was sold for 3.6 million dollars plus those 3 players going to Salamanca. So considering that the 3 players traded for him have a value of apporoximately 10 million (my calculations) plus the 3.6 million; this would make Munteanu worth around 13.6 million dollars. Not bad for a second division player. :)

Found out from a Romanian newspaper called Prosport (www.prosport.ro). It's very reliable. I think he was worth it based on his performance last year with Salamanca. But we'll see how he performs with Salamanca this next year.
