article says that the Kolozsvár/Cluj district president said that they will build a new 30,000 seats arena there and the mayor added that he will
instigate a joint eurofoci bid with Hungary in the near future.

then, it says we should take it as compliment because Romania is 18. in the world ranking and we are 62. so the question arises wether Romania has any chance bidding with us of all countries.

Seems someone wants to be popular. Getting the hopes up of unsuspecting individuals to raise his profile when he knows there is zero chance of this happening :rollani:

How did we get to be 62nd? Weren't we at 50 not long ago? And we've had at least decent results recently with the exception of the Montenegro game.

All of these bids are such bs...it comes off as completely desperate. Instead the MLSZ should be putting that money into player development etc...so some day being the (co)hosts won't be our only real hope of qualifying.

us being 62 I think comes from the fact that some better results from 5 years ago have been dropped as the more recent results have more weight.

IMHO if MLSZ wants to candidate again, they should do it with Croatia. In Rumania, there is no proper infrastructure for such an event.

talking about infrastructure, they have better stadiums than the croats. and also better club teams who achieve in eurofoci which, in long terms, brings money to build more new stadiums. Kolozsvár, Craiova, Bucuresti, Temesvár, etc. I don't see us or Croatia having better infrastructure for such an event.

Dude,

I'm alking about the general infrastructure (motorways, 4-star hotels, public transport system, etc) Building 3-4 new stadiums is more easy, than building a new country.
