Here we can talk about the players, the matches, about what Radoi should do and what he shouldn't do...

18 iunie 2019: România – Croaţia (San Marino, 19:30)
21 iunie 2019: Anglia – România (Cesena, 19:30)
24 iunie 2019: Franţa – România (Cesena, 22:00)

It's probably the hardest group Romania has ever faced at any level.

It's very famous our win in Portugal, but I think our best game in the qualifiers was at home against the Portuguese (1-1).

I invite you to see the game and notice how we dominated and controlled that match. Having Marin in midfield helped. In fact we played that day without a pure DM, only with Cicaldau and Marin in midfield.

I think the group at WC 70 was pretty damn tough, at least relatively speaking:

One of the best Brazil teams ever
WC holders England
Czechoslovakia

Maybe Euro 2000 and Euro 2008 after that

But yes this group is crazy

The form of the strikers hasn't been good. Puscas and Petre not scoring often while Ivan is a ghost in Austria

Coman is the only foward in good form. Man is not at his best either but he kept a good goals/assists record. Dragus has also lost ground

Only Ianis seems to arrive at his best

In any case it's really frustrating they get such a tough group. I believe in this team but they are playing on a WC semi final level, it's crazy. Getting out of this group would be like winning the Euro for us

Lol, wow. I heard some Serie A teams might already be interested in his services, I hope that’s the case and they want him as a top 2-3 options so he gets minutes. Don’t really care which club it is as long as he plays Serie A or another top 4 league level and work from there.

Morutan, Dobre, Matan; no surprises there given play time. I’m not even sure how Dobre is doing, last I remember he was on loan in League One from Bournemouth.

Sad, I wanna blame Gigi almost entirely for the Morutan situation, certainly didn’t make it easy on him, but I wonder if it’s a mental issue on Morutan’s part too to not force a comeback in the team. Surely he was good enough before so what changed his football so drastically...

Matan, I’m disappointed in. He was top scorer for the U19s iirc, big in that campaign, and I think he scored the first goal against Bosnia in our U21 campaign too.

Who else are we missing? Chelaru hasn’t been in the team for awhile. Moldovan is so so. Casap has been injured, no? And Patrick Petre was banned awhile back.

From these 33, 10 more to be cut for the final tournament.. there’s gonna be some tough choices.

Vlad Dragomir is in Serie B playoffs with Perugia btw.

They can shine in next U21 qualifiers. That will be their turn. Dulca too.

I would like to see Butean over Boboc personally. But otherwise pretty good. Feel bad for Oaida but it’s competitive there

I feel bad for Morutan, it's a big blow. Probably he didn't do enough to come back either

But I think we'll miss him, there's no other midfielder with his creativity

The great news is that all the senior players are there. Marin, Baluta and Manea were doubtful. Baluta never played for the U21 btw

Yeah.. do you guys think he needs to leave FCSB to get playing ktime next season and chances for the next U21 campaign? At least the new U21 rule plus maybe Man or Coman hopefully leaving in the summer could help.

As for Baluta, wow, I can’t believe you’re right he went direct from the U19s to seniors and didn’t play for U21s at all.

Dragus an even more interesting case - in 2017, he had played for no youth NTs at that point. Starting in 2018, he played once for the U19s, once for the U21s, scoring a goal, and twice for the seniors (both against Serbia in the NL).

Yeah. I expect Dragus to make it. He was our best player in the last 2 friendlies, against Spain and Denmark (were he scored a supperb goal). Aside from Morutan he is the other player that could be vital if we need someone who can bring us back in a game in case we are down, and against such rivals it will certainly happen

Good that France don’t use Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, or Coman.

But they still have players like Upamecano, Sarr, Ballo-Toure, Konate, Guendouzi, Tousart, Aouar, Bamba, Terrier, M. Dembele.

No Morutan and especially no Marin sucks. But hopefully we can put in a nice performance and maybe get some results.

If Marin doesn't go, I think Dragomir will go for sure, and the other place would be for Oaida or Olaru. That's my prediction.
