Hey everyone,

Did anyone know that Roma was in New York to play an exhibition match against Benfica yesterday? I just found out now that it was a tie game. If anyone saw the match, how was it?

cheers,

PS. Waiting for the long summer transfer fiasco to end...

AS Roma faced Benifca in a friendly match in New York. Here is the report of the match. Afetr 6 minutes, Roma was near to score, but the referee did not validate the goal and decided for a penalty. Montella kicked it and Benfica's Goal-Keeper succeed instoping the ball. 16 minutes later, Montella scored with a back-kick. But at the 26th minute, the referee decided for another penalty, this time, for Benifca. Uribe scored. Roma tryied to score for all the rest of the match, which, however, ended with the result of 1-1.

Nakata played the whole game and Delvecchio and Montella got subbed by Poggi and Zago respectively.Totti did not play.

Did you actually watch the game???
How about that ball that hit Roma's post? Benfica was very close to scoring on the second half. But I'll have to admit that Roma had a superior first half.
Benfica should have won. Don't forget about the two penalties that Roma was forgiven by the referee.

At the end it was a good match, and either team could have won.
