i 've been reading current news that chelsea is holding interest in a LOT of players, first with Inter, now with Fowler, how much of these are actually true.Chelsea want Robbie Fowler as the man to solve their goalscoring problems.

Gianluca Vialli, already planning for an all-out assault on the Premiership next
season, is keen to sign the £15-million rated Fowler during the summer.

The Chelsea manager will face stiff competition from Arsenal, whose manager
Arsene Wenger is a long-time admirer of Fowler's predatory talents, as well as
Leeds.

Both Chelsea and Arsenal are among the clubs also interested in Dutch striker
Ruud Van Nistelrooy but Vialli has been put off by the £20m asking price.

Fowler, a proven goalscorer in the Premiership, remains a better option but first he
must prove he is free from the injury problems which have dogged him this year.

The Liverpool-born striker, who celebrates his 25th birthday on Sunday, has started
only seven matches this season but is almost ready to begin playing again
following a second ankle operation.

The problem for Chelsea and the other clubs interested in signing Fowler is
persuading Liverpool that they should let him go. The striker will still have three
years remaining on his contract at the end of the season and there would be an
uproar at Anfield if the club decided to cash in on a home-grown player. But he
may find himself down the pecking order following the £11m arrival of Emile
Heskey and the form of Titi Camara.

Manager Gerard Houllier has denied that Fowler will be available but despite that,
the word within football circles persists that he will be sold.

However, Vialli is determined to strengthen his squad, particularly up front, where a
lack of goals has cost Chelsea dearly in the Premiership but not in Europe as
Wednesday night's 3-1 defeat of Barcelona showed.

Chelsea are prepared to sell Chris Sutton for no less than 6 million pounds, they bought him for 10 million. Tottenham has shown interest, but that is only a rumour. Maybe Sutton will not find his goal-scoring form until next season.

Leave Fowler alone.
I don't think that he will be sold as he is a fans favorate. It is too big a risk for next year where both the pool and Chelsea will be going for the league and Fowler playing against them in a vital game - and scoring.

Ok,you can laways stick to Chris "I cant score,I cant score,I cant score,I still cant score" Sutton or Giafranco "now, when was I born" Zola.

Yep keep Miss Sutton and Can't Scora Zola. I mean why would you want a prolific goalscorer.

What happened to Forsell?
He was ok. I think you should start looking to build for the future, ie buy only young players in the summer even if it does mean you may not win anything next year.

Ps Fowler's not going anywhere.

I think Mutu is the answer if they want to get a young forward to build on. He scored his first goal for Romania on Wednesday in his 2nd appearance. He is pure talent. :)

Hai Romania!

"Chelsea want Robbie Fowler as the man to solve their goalscoring problems..."
the problem is vialli!!
look at the squad when chelsea beat lazio 3-1! it's the same with vialli's complaint :(
the problem is vialli doesn't has enough skill and knowledge about how to build a strong team!!
i can't imagine what would happen to chelsea if chelsea don't have wise, poyet and desailly!

We do have Wise, Poyet and Desailly and we are still in trouble. Agree that Vialli is tactically weak, but for god sake,it's his first season as a coach ( last season he was a playing manager) How many years took to Ferguson to create Manu as we see it now. Yes, I know most of us hate Manu, but you can't deny that they are champions again. Good players can play under very bad coach too.
Football fans are irrational, but you are extra irrational. Something personal against him or what? ( don't tell me this Gullit matter crap, ain't buying this)

Personally i think Vialli's done well at Chelsea and has learnt a lot in the short time he has been manager. He even admits himself that he has made mistakes and that he is learning from them which will only make him a better manager in the future. Winning 3 trophies in 2 & 1/2 seasons isn't bad is it? Chelsea should stick with him like Man utd stuck with Fergie and you will see the rewards in a few years.

By the way did any of u see that programme in England the other day on foreign players in the EPL? What did u think?

Hey, lets hope for a good match when u play us on Saturday. ;)

i don't know why but i kinda dislike vialli(maybe he;s got a mafiosi face!!? :D)

but my personal oppinion is that he's doing quite well and excluding sutton...most of his buys do quite well and have been gd bargains

desailly came for about 3.5M..
same for deschamps
thome 3M?
weah-loan

and has not really spent a lot of money last season and went quite far in CL...
is making the FA final ..

xax: I agree with you about Vialli making some nice buys. But let me remind you of his bad ones:

Sutton: duh, 12 million pounds, this guys cost us more than Desailly, Thome and Deschamps combined.

Laudrup: never settled in at Stamford brige.

...Just to remind those of you who have forgotten...We think Fouler is a lame-a** because HE IS!! Remember him bearing his butt to LeSaux and pretending to snort lines after scoring a goal. WHAT A PATHETIC LOSER!!!! Besides he's not even that good! No class as a footballer OR a person.

Fowler = Bad news. :p

The only problem with Vialli is that he has some kind of block about strikers. He just can't buy a couple of excellent ones. Why? I don't know and don't get it. For 2 seasons We've done just about everything right except for scoring, and it's cost us dearly!

...Sigh...

well, even though this would make me very sick, but i think ferguson is far better than vialli! da*n, i salute ferguson :(
he creates and makes a good tactic in meeting different teams in EPL, and vialli doesn't do that, he always make a basic tactic and the next step is rely on the players on the field! at least that's my opinion!
