Heart attack at only 59 years old, very sad.

Though I think this belongs in the Chelsea forum.

In a career that spanned 16 years, Peter Osgood made 560 appearances for Chelsea and Southampton, scoring 220 goals and winning 2 FA Cup winners medals.

During the 69-70 season, Peter achieved the distinction of being the top scorer in the First Division with 31 goals and also scored in every round of the FA Cup, including the final.

He was a member of the England World Cup Squad in Mexico and played in the victorious Chelsea team that beat Real Madrid in the ‘71 European Cupwinners Final.

Peter retains his interest in soccer as a member of the TV commentary team on Sky sports - but he is now also a passionate golfer and professional after dinner speaker.

wow, this was a shocker. He broke his leg in the very early stages of his career, when he was making a big impact and shaping up to be the London answer to Georgie Best and, although he never quite got back his previous zip and quickness he was a really fine and glamorous player who left his own particular mark on a very exciting era in English football. The old saying, "Osgood, is-good!", still rings true. RIP.
