RIP to the greatest ever female athlete to have ever graced the olympics, Fanny Blankers Koen who died today aged 85 . 4 gold medals in the 1948 olympics in the 100 metres, 200m, 80m hurdles and 4x100m relay, an acheivement no-one has ever equaled. Holland has lost its greatest ever sportswoman. A sad day for the whole sporting world.

RIP Fanny. :( Although she dies on a nice age.

She indeed was the biggest sportswoman we ever had. Especially an achievement if you know that she already had two kids when she won those 4 gold medals.

Yes tragic news. 85 is a nice age though. I've always liked her. Very normal and nice lady.

RIP :(

nice idea for a thread, Wally.

I remember her taking part in a sports awards ceremony (she presented an award) ; a kind and lovely woman. I even was not planned when she had her biggest sucess, but she must have been fantastic in her sport.
If someone guarantees me 85 years on this planet I´d underline this.

RIP, Fanny.
