Probably the most important person in the history of Dutch football has died. :depress:

May he rest in peace.

Sad to hear... he revolutionized football with his 'total football' tactic.

A real Shock!

I think he is the man whom I have felt closest in football terms ever. he is somehow part of my football knowledge and history. I grew up as a kid my father telling me the story of the great Dutch team of 74 and Rinus guiding. Then I was 14 when Euro 88 came and I lived, cried and jeered at every second every moment. And when The Man saw Van Basten's goal at the final and jumped to hold hi head in disbelief ... and when The Man saw the Swan winning that semi-final in the 89th min., the greatest games of all, the sweetest revenge ever … and then He lifted the Euro Cup!!! :proud:

All My Pride! All His Life!

Rest in Peace. You will never be forgotten! :(

I heard it this morning and i've been in complete shock ever since. What he has done for Dutch football and Ajax is amazing. This is the man that formed Johan Cruijff, this is the man that built the incredible Ajax of the beginning of the 1970s, THIS IS THE MAN THAT GAVE US EC88. But he has done so much more, inventing total football, structuring the Ajax youth system, etc. etc. Respect, forever. Rust in vrede Rinus Michels.
