Well here's an interesting stat. All the penalties awarded for and against the big teams from season 11-12 to now (it includes Menez and Candreva's penalties from yesterday)

I think this thread is targeted at a certain Napolitano poster, no? ;)

We're the only ones with a -ve balance. Unlucky.

I just don't understand the point of such statistics. Is every club supposed to get the same amount of penalties? Is there only x amount of penalties that can be given every year, with some clubs getting more than their fair share? Does every club play the same style?

It is completely pointless.

Dunno about all these stats tbh, they seem to differ from site to site. According to http://www.statbunker.com/competitions/ForPenalty?comp_id=486 these are the numbers from the last 6 seasons (included the current one).

Team: For - Against
Inter 27-34 = -7
Roma 37-28 = +9
Rube 27-19 = +8
Milan 39-17 = +22
Napoli 37-16 = +21
Fiorentina 33-25 = +8
Lazio 30-28 = +2
Udinese 28-26 = +2

These numbers look more in tune with the OP's post. The ones Doctor posted looks completely out of tune and are probably made up by some Rube fan.

Wow, I know we don't get favoured and all that cliche about how the season evens itself out. But the Napoli/Milan numbers are staggering.
Ofcourse these stats will be conveniently ignored as Calcio lives and breathes controversy and conspiracy.

I'm not sure if these stats really show anything at all, and I don't know why did the posters before me choose the last 3 or the last 6 years, but here are the correct numbers for the last 5 seasons+6 matches of the 6th season.

Juventus, Milan, Inter, Napoli, Roma, Fiorentina, Lazio...

2013/14 and 2014/15 so far

http://www.football-lineups.com/tourn/Serie_A_2013-2014/stats/penalties/

01. Napoli +7 (10-3)
02. Fiorentina +4 (12-8)
03. Roma +3 (7-4)
04. Lazio +2 (9-7)
05. Juventus +2 (7-5)
06. Milan +0 (7-7)
07. Inter -7 (2-9)

2011/12 and 2012/13

http://www.football-lineups.com/tourn/Serie_A_2011-2012/stats/penalties/

01. Napoli +17 (20-3)
02. Milan +12 (21-9)
03. Juventus +7 (15-8)
04. Fiorentina +5 (18-13)
05. Lazio +3 (16-13)
06. Inter -2 (16-18)
07. Roma -3 (11-14)

2009/10 and 2010/11
http://www.football-lineups.com/tourn/Serie_A_2010-2011/stats/penalties/
http://www.football-lineups.com/tourn/Serie_A_2009-2010/stats/penalties/

01. Roma +11 (24-13)
02. Milan +11 (16-5)
03. Napoli +2 (15-13)
04. Inter +0 (12-12)
05. Juventus +0 (9-9)
06. Lazio -1 (10-11)
07. Fiorentina -2 (7-9)

When you divide these 6 seasons in 2+2+2, you can see that there is no pattern. That's why showing the total of the 6 seasons will give a wrong impression that some teams were badly favored over the last 6 seasons (in this case Napoli and Milan). In any case, here's that total...

01. Napoli +26 (45-19)
02. Milan +23 (44-21)
03. Roma +11 (42-31)
04. Juventus +9 (31-22)
05. Fiorentina +7 (37-30)
06. Lazio +4 (35-31)
07. Inter -9 (30-39)

So if a team had 5 PK's which are all dubious, and another team had 10 Pk's all of them right - we should pull up stats that tell half the truth and use it for their favor.

Rocchi confesses: "The penalty for Maicon was an odd incident, managed by me in an odd way - it created tension on the pitch... Garcia sent off, you can't tolerate that gesture, I hope this game does not effect my career"

Clear penalty in my view.

Not to mention that Roma were already two goals to the good...

ahh yes, the favourite on this forum.... bad decisions dont matter if a team is winning anyway! Like the Morata sending off didnt matter because it was late in the game! A bad decision is a bad decision

LOL. You really need an eye exam.

I can see why the ref gave it, Dainelli had his arm across de Rossi's neck.
But he wasnt dragged to the floor like he made it appear. Dainelli had his arm across his neck but its not enough to knock somebody over!
