Hapoel Haifa hopes for legal salvation

The receivers of Hapoel Haifa soccer club and the IFA are planning to ask the police to present an interim report on the Yisrael Cohen investigation, following a recommendation from Haifa District Court President Micha Lindenstrauss. Lindenstrauss has ordered the IFA to report back to the court in a week why it is unable to decide on the matter of relegations during the next two weeks. The judge's order comes in response to a petition by the receivers of Hapoel Haifa, a club destined for relegation, who claim the uncertainty of the current situation is making it impossible for them to make preparations for next season. The financially-stricken club is hoping that findings in the Yisrael Cohen investigation and the match-fixing scandal could bring a relegations freeze. The IFA is to decide on this only on July 10. Court decided that the final decision will be made in 2 weeks (12th June), which is a much more logical time to make that decision.

It is sad to see Hapoel Haifa in Liga Leumit but if they lost in the pitch, and deserved to be in the relegation zone then they should be relegated
