What's the point of threads like this one? How do you measure "quality"? Anyway, this is how I rate them according to my level of interest : Serie A, Ligue 1, La Liga, EPL, Brasileirão.

Balakov I wouldnt give a 4,5 for the Brazilian league, lets see:

Quality of the players(QoP): 3 not a very bright year, everysingle promisse was sold to europe. We have 2 teams with quality players.

Quality of the teams(QoT): 3 as well, because o QoP

Quality of the Public/Attendance(P/A): This has to be the worst :( general attendance is getting lower each year. We have was to many trophies while things should be focused towards Brasileiro more. I give it a 2!

Emotion/Quality of the games(E/QoG): 3

I disagree. I'd give a 4 for QoP and QoT. Attendance is low only in Sao Paulo, because of the expensive ticket prices – in the other states the fans have been showing up. So I also give 4 for P/A. ;) QoG gets a 5, this year I've seen a lot of very exciting matches.

So Brasil's final grade is 4,25. Our domestic football is behind only the top three Euro leagues, and tied with Argentina... and that pretty much reflects reality. :)

if brazil wasn't here i would believe it:pp

i'm enough ok with what has been said here, except the quality of french players, IMO the french league is the fishpond of the big euro teams:)

How can anyone give Serie A, La liga and the EPL anything below a 5 when rating the quality of players. These three leagues have some fantastic players and you'd struggle to find any better outside of them.

Even in their worst moments the Brazilian and Argie campionships are only under English, Italy and Spain, nor Portuguese, French, and much less Holland, Germany are in the same level, because of the ambient, the games and the players.
Of course this are lousy times for both leagues, when you think that for instance el clasico Boca-River of the last 70's and first 80's had the confrontation of Gatti-Fillol, Maradona-Kempes, Brindis-JJlopez, players like Alonso, Bochini, Burruchaga, etc..but watching the other day for instance 10 bricklayers surrounding D'Alessandro in Wolfburg don't give me the idea of an excellent league.
Both campionships always suffering the constant loosing of players to everywhere in the world, from Russia to England, from Mexico to France, but always managing to have at least to or three top teams capable of winning to any team of the world, and that speaks of the level of a league, I saw peolple putting the turkish league above this two, I disagree a lot.
Finally the champion of the world in two of three chances from the last years was...the champion of San Marino? I guess no, plus Boca have almost three different teams in every oportunity. And who won the WC, el Villareal or la canarinha? T
My finall argument is that a crappy league don't create an Aimar, a Ronaldinho, a Riquelme, a Milito, a Saviola, a Samuel, only naming players that left their origin league really not long ago, even a Galetti, or Ibagaza, or Adriano, and you will see Cavenaghi, Burdisso, G.Rodriguez, Clemente, Tevez, Diego, etc..and if we go back in history just six words: Pele, Maradona, Di Stefano, Garrincha, Sivori, Ronaldo.
Nor Cryuff, Beckenbauer (monsters by the way) had the skills, joy and style of the six mentioned (let the achievments aside if not is just not fair) and they learn where?... in ****ing southamerica.
Well, did you notice I'm a little bit tired of the constant underate of our leagues :pp , well no hard feelings, but with all the respect to the turkish, holland, portuguese, considering above River, Santos, Boca, even show me a really small tiny club from these leagues or even the top ones that can develope this players: Redondo, Riquelme, Sorin, Cambiasso, Batista, Borghi, Maradona, etc...cause Argentinos Juniors can, while Chievo can...buy Camoranesi to Banfield, by the way camo from juve and Cruz Zanetti from Inter, are from Banfield, do you ever heard them? even in Argentina are not consider as youngsters providers, is normally a second division team, but two of the top teams of the world have former players from there.
